My son and I just watched a stunning and very sad Nature documentary on the horseshoe crab populations in the Delaware Bay and their impact on the Red Knot bird. The Red Knot populations have declined sharply and could be extinct within just a few years. The entire program is available for viewing here: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episo...roduction/592/

We are writing letter to Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior urging prompt listing of the Red Knot with the endangered species act. A link here has a sample letter - we changed it up and sent a "kid letter" also. http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeu3rwf/id7.html

If you are in Maryland, VA or Delaware, a letter to the governor would also be very helpful.
