New thread for the Top 5... I can't wait for tomorrow night's show. The theme is Rat Pack Standards. (Should I put that in spoiler tags -- does anyone NOT want to know?) It should be pretty interesting.

That is a fantastic theme. Matt is gonna shine. That is totally his style of music (and also why I love him so)

I don't even know what that means? Rat Pack Standards? :

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr.... but mostly Sinatra, I hope.

Um, I'm under 70, but a late-in-life child to parents who loved this stuff. My dad was a huge fan of Dean Martin.

(I've never thought of Judy Garland as part of this group, but whatever.)

I think this will be a great theme. I wish I didn't have to miss most of it!

Hmm, the theme doesn't excite me, but still hope it's a good week! Disco week was much better than anticipated so maybe this will be, too!

How pathetic am I that I'm bummed that my son's Beta Club induction is going to cut into my AI time? :

I think they are only performing one song each tonight. Probably because the judges can't keep their remarks short and to the point... although in the past, the Top 5 performed 2 songs each, but with 4 judges I guess they would definitely run over.

Adam Lambert will do "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Just a prediction...

Jamie Foxx is the mentor. The idols will be singing:

Kris Allen - “The Way You Look Tonight” - Jamie said “I want to make an album with you now”
Allison Iraheta - “Someone to Watch Over Me”
Matt Giraud - “My Funny Valentine” - Jamie suggested changes - Matt doesn’t play piano
Danny Gokey - “Come Rain Come Shine” - Jamie suggested changes
Adam Lambert - “Feeling Good” (the muse version) -Jamie liked Adam.

I have to say... I liked all the contestants tonight. GREAT song choices.

Kris - "The Way You Look Tonight” - Really sweet. His voice is amazing. Why was Simon so harsh?

Allison - “Someone to Watch Over Me” - She really put a lot of feeling into it. Such a powerful voice. Shut up, Simon (again).

Matt - “My Funny Valentine” - This is his genre. I don't know why Randy & Kara didn't like it. At least Simon thought it was brilliant.

Danny - “Come Rain Come Shine” - He has a fantastic voice. I think if it weren't for Adam, he would be the front runner to win.

Adam - “Feeling Good” - Wow. I do agree a little with Randy about it being very theatrical, but just wow.

I think the negative comments from Simon to Kris & Allison are to ensure a Danny-Adam finale, where either one could potentially win. On the other hand, if Kris or Allison went up against Adam in the finale, Adam would crush them with his mad talent.

My prediction: Either Matt or Kris will go home. Sad.

I didn't turn on the tv until almost 8:25, and the only person I missed was Kris. WTH? Only one person sang in all that time? From what you say about Kris' performance (I couldn't tell much from the clip at the end), I'll be downloading this week's song.

Allison was very good tonight, and Danny definitely stepped up his game. He was my favorite of the four I heard. Adam's vocal skills are amazing, but I just didn't like that style with that song.

I enjoyed every one tonight as well but I really loved Adam and Danny's performances.

I think the bottom three will be Matt, Kris, and Allison. My guess is Matt gets sent home.

I'm watching now, they are on Allison. I liked Kris, but thought he was just a bit weak in parts. Hmmm...Matt...it was almost great, but he had pitch issues and some transitional things going on. I don't think lowering the key did him any favors, because it just felt like it was too low for him in the beginning. But then parts of it were really good, and I thought he was expressive and connected emotionally.

I liked everyone tonight, except Matt but I think he's just "eh" anyway...I've never really gotten the Matt love. Adam still blew them all away imo

Allison sounded great but I thought her diction was terrible, is it just me? I couldn't understand half her words. Of course I was working on math with dd at the same time so maybe it was me.

Kris and Danny were great. Judges were too hard on them.

I think Matt will have to go home. I hate to see any of the other four go at this point...

...except of course that Adam is going to win

No, it wasn't just you. I couldn't understand a word of it!
