What wraps/slings are in your "stash"?

I hope there's not already a topic like this, as I couldn't find one.

Can you list the slings/wraps you have or have used and a quick pro/con about each? I've been reading through all these threads, and there's tons of information, but I'd like to see a quick reference list of what people have as their stash so I can see what preferences go together (if that makes sense).

Right now I have a moby and I LOVE that it feels secure and baby never fusses when he's in there, but it's getting warmer, so it's too hot for the moby. I just ordered a light weight wrap from Gypsy Mama, so hopefully that helps. And I'm considering a Mei Tai for nursing, but haven't bought one yet.

What's in your stash?

Ring sling - my favourite go to. LOVED, loved, loved it when he was a newborn. I could wear it for hours & he always slept wonderfully in it. Now that he is heavier (25+lbs) I find it uncomfortable for long periods but dh still likes it. It's very versatile & packs up small so it's easy to keep handy.

Moby style - like how close to me it keeps him but find it very cumbersome to get on & off. Really didn't find it convenient for quick ins & outs but better for long hauls. Couldn't master a back carry alone.

Ergo - getting to be my new favourite. Super easy to get on my back which is what I need right now. It's a little bit ugly - some of the other ssl's have much prettier materials but I am bigger & some of them were not as comfortable as ther ergo.

Framed back carrier - dh likes this one a lot. It's comfy for long treks & he's very secure in it. I can carry him plus some other stuff for a long time comfortably. It's very bulky - almost as much as a stroller so we find it practical for hiking/long walks.

well, i have quite a lot of things and of course different things have worked at different times - i'm not necessarily using the same things now as i did when she was small. but here's a basic idea:

Ring slings - my favorite shoulder style is SBP (sleeping baby productions). i like ones made from a woven wrap the best as i find them the most supportive. we use a RS these days for quick ins and outs, and when she's in an up and down mood where one minute she wants to walk and explore and then wants to be held... for 2 minutes... until she wants down again i always have one in the car for such occasions and we use it just about evry day when we drop off and pick up DD1 at school.

SSC's - i've been trying different things lately, SSC's are my go-to carriers when i need to wear her for a long time, like when we're at the grocery store, i'm doing chores, or when she is going to be worn for a nap, or a festival or something. they are the most supportive now that she's bigger/heavier. i've got an Angelpack LX and a Babies Beyond Borders Toddler full-buckle and a Nana's Jetpak.

Mei Tai's - i don't use MT's as much anymore, though they are always my favorite for longer-wearing when babies are little and i find them much better for front carries than any SSC, as well as high-back carries with little ones so they can look out over my shoulder. but i prefer a structure waist with a toddler, plus with all the up and down lately i prefer buckles vs. tying straps. my fave MT's are Kozy and Babyhawk, though Kozy is better all-around since i can still wear her in a Kozy comfortably where as the babyhawk not so much anymore now that she's bigger.

wraps - i'm not a big wrapper, but i do keep some around and i find they are nice when baby is sick and really wants to snuggle. i've had a lot of wraps over time, but at the moment i just have a cheap woven wrap (a Medley) that's about 4.4meters and a Hoppediz woven wrap 'shorty' that's about 2.5 meters that i can do rucksack, rebozo and torso carries with... oh, and i can use it for a no-sew ring sling which i sometimes do. i've also got about a 2.5yd piece of a Gypsymama breeze wrap that i'm keeping as a shawl/scarf for myself because i love the colorway, and can also be used a no-sew ring sling in a pinch.

DH also likes our Kelty frame pack, we've had that since DD1 was about 4 months old. i can't wear it, it's too bulky and throws my center of gravity off. but he quite likes it, so we've held onto it for him. he will also sometimes wear a SSC or a Kozy. he's not a wrapper or a ring sling wearer though.

1. way too many pouches-- everyone buys these for us and they are my least favorite. just not enough options with them and hard to get a good fit for different holds. and i don't like the cradle hold in any sling.

2. ring sling (maya)-- I've been using this for years now as a nanny and doula and it's my favorite overall.... so versatile. my favorite hold in RSs is upright with a newborn or older baby upright but off to the side. they do get heavy and I can't use them for really long periods of time. my baby likesthis one best too.

3. hug-a-bug (jersey wrap)-- ok. annoying to get on, but comfortable for newborns upright. restricts your range of movement in your arms somewhat whenspread out so it makes chores annoying.

4. ergo-- annoying to put onand off, i really think the straps you pull totighten could be better made and easier to use like a bjorn, I find it hard to loosen them to get it off and I really don't like the back clip. tough to pack b/c it's bulky. I like the infant insert. that being said, it's by far the most comfortable for heavy kids and long walks. my 2nd favorite.
