HIB and Type 1 Diabetes...

I am researching the HIB vaccine and the Prevnar vaccine and am STILL having a hard time deciding what to do. I had recently heard that the HIB vaccine can cause Type 1 diabetes...I have looked for studies but haven't had much luck finding anything. Does anyone have any links on this subject? She is scheduled at her 15 month check-up in 3 months to get this one, but now I'm having major second thoughts!! Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you have a family history of Type 1 diabetes? I was just wondering why you were concernied about this particualar possible reaction out of so many. We have a family history and I believe that the MMR triggered my son's Type 1.

I don't have a family history of diabetes...My husband had an aunt with diabetes, but that's it as far as I know...This isn't the only possible reaction that concerns me...They all do,but I have been able to find more info on the other possible reactions but not so much on the link between type 1 diabetes and the HIB vaccine. I have found 1 study so far, but would love to find more on the subject. I am having a hard time trying to figure out if there has been proof of a link, or if it's a speculation, etc.
Just to make sure I'm not missing any of the potential side effects...
1. Guillian Barre syndrome
2. Higher risk of catching a serious HIB infection up to 2 weeks following vaccination
3.Possibly Type 1 diabetes??
4. .serotype replacement
Am I missing any?
Thanks!
