Wilderness Family Naturals

I know have have heard of the company before but I don't know much about them. My local HFS just got in some of their products. Their coconut oil is nearly twice as much as the NOW brand...almost $17 for a small jar! And they make a healthy mayo too I see, but it's about the same price. Now I'm willing to pay more for quality if I know it's there. Does anyone have any insight on their products and whether they are 'better' than other brands?
I decided also that I need to start heckling DH about spending the money on a food processor so I can start making our mayo. I don't think I can stomach that kind of price tag and I'm beyond tired of buying the Hain Safflower.

I've hated mayo my whole life, but home-made mayo is a different animal. It's really quite tasty and super easy to make.....

The Wilderness Family Natural mayo tastes exactly like Miracle Whip to me. I don't like it. I'm a Hellman's girl... whole different flavor. But I hate the soybean oil in the Hellman's. It's pretty much my only soy sin.

As for making your own, I have noooo idea where I saw it, but I have seen recipes/guidelines for using an immersion blender to make mayo. That would be a lot cheaper, I think. But, if you're really wanting a food processor anyway, just forget that I even said that!

Miracle Whip...ewww. I've always been a Hellman's girl too (though I haven't eaten it in years). Though truthfully I think the Hain Safflower is sweetened like MW too, and I've just gotten used to it. Too bad, I like that the WFN uses all good oils. Still confused about the coconut oil though. What makes it so superior?

I DO have an immersion blender! But I really want a processor for things like hummus and pesto and such too. I might try it with the immersion sometime and just not tell DH OR get him to tell me how tasty and cost effective it is, and then launch into a massive complaint about how hard it was to do with an immersion blender.
