I have wanted a cat for a while. Just being lazy about getting over to the shelter to grab one to foster (planning to foster one at a time until I found the right one). Then last tuesday morning, he showed up. I found him on my way to work, on a rural road not close to any houses. I think he was dumped off. He was panting like crazy, and got under my car when I pulled over. He gave a half hearted hiss when I pulled him out, but didn't struggle or scratch me. I parked in the shade and gave him some water. About an hour later, my mom came and got him with a dog crate and put him in a sheltered place at my house.
He's young (I think, probably a year or two), long haired neutered (YAY) male cat. Pure black, very pretty!
I have word in at the vets and shelter and craigslist in the off-chance he is not a throw away. No response so far. If no one turns up, I got a kitty!
I named him Fin.
I have him on a decent food (nature's recipe), and he must have been fed something awful before, because his poop STINKS! Omg, I have never smelled such smelly cat poop. I knew there was a litter I had used before that worked better than regular litter, but wasn't wood stove pellets (which do work well, by the way), but I couldn't remember. Then I was at the pet store and saw "Worlds Best Cat Litter" and remembered. Chicken Feed!
: Awesome litter! Non toxic, compostable (and supposedly flushable) and even clumps. And Cheap! $11 for 40 lbs, and lasts a long time if you scoop it.
Anyway, just had to share my new kitty!
