I guess I mostly just want reassurance that I'm doing the right thing!
I've used the "alert" button for a number of posts recently that seem to be advertising/spam. Most of them, it was pretty clear because they were not related to the topic of the forum at all, but a couple, I was unsure.
That's the purpose of the alert, right? So you can check out a suspect post and make the decision whether or not it's appropriate?
