This is a little old, but no one ever responded! I wanted to tell you that for breakfast I typically have a fruit salad. Fruit is a great AM food :

Smoothies? Green smoothies especially. Also, a raw granola type thing with soaked/sprouted nuts and seeds in place of the oats, using raw honey or agave nectar, with raw almond mylk.

a large spinach, kale, beet, banana and apple juice smoothie (always organic if you can). if i have the time, an avocado, a banana and a 1/2 papaya chopped up together & sprinkled with raw sunflower seeds. usually its the smoothie.

and i tend to grind (with a coffee bean grinder) & eat my flax seeds daily serving in the a.m. as well. i grind about 3 tbs and eat it off of a spoon, chased with organic apple juice b'c eating it straight will feel like you're a dog eating peanut butter. lol.

raw is awesome!!!!!!!

Soaked almonds (overnight), an apple and some water in the blender. I'd have to look up exact measurements. The recipe says to add some vanilla bean and I think a pinch of salt. Also, add some cinnamon. Its an awesome breakfast. Its like a pudding. I added thinly sliced banannas on top and when my son was younger I would puree the bananna. I'll have to do this again soon. Forgot the name of the book I got it from. Yum.

Here's a non-smoothie option that I am TOTALLY addicted to!

I call it apple chowder and know I got the general recipe somewhere online (sorry - trying to give as much credit elsewhere as possible)

Apple Chowder:
Cut up one apple into bite-size pieces and throw in a cereal bowl. Take a huge heaping spoonful of almond butter and toss in. Drizzle or plop in a spoonful (to taste) of raw honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Chop up a couple tablespoons of walnuts (or whatever you've got, this is just my preference). Stir it all up and chow down.

I love this because this keeps me full all day and it is beyond yummy!

Everyone has had some great ideas! I just saw the post above and wondered what soaking the almonds does? What's the benefit of this? Sounds easy enough......

Our breakfast is pretty much always green smoothies but we also eat fruit salad, and home made muesli.

As for soaking almonds, doing so makes them more easy to digest as it neutralizes the enzyme inhibiting phytates that occur naturally in most nuts.
