Griffin arrived! (on his due date :)

Went into labor at about 10:30 Sat night with ctx a minute apart instantly. Called midwives right away and I labored about 8ish hours, pushed for 4+ long intense hours and things were just not happening. He flipped posterior halfway through somewhere and I had a persistant anterior lip he just wouldn't fit through my pelvic outlet no matter what we tried. So at around 11am we made the decision to transfer to a hospital 40 minutes away. C-section went well and my recovery has been pretty great compared to last time. Just got home this afternoon and I'm taking things slow!

While I am dissapointed that I missed out on my home vbac, I feel completely different than last time. I have no regrets or unanswered questions this time around. My midwives were excellent and ultimately I did everything that I can. My c/s was very much necessary for me and I feel grateful that everything turned out well!

I've been wondering what have you been up to and what better thing that bringing your baby boy to the world?!

You sound content with how your labor went, even if it wasnt what you planned, but like you said, knowing you tried everything possible and accepting how things turned out, it's the best we can do.

I'm glad you are recovering well, April, and have a great outlook on the birth. Very different from last time that's for sure! And you know that labor benefited Griffin a lot even if he wasn't a VBAC. Can't wait to see more pictures. Hope you mend quickly while enjoying your new LO.
