Funny things your DH/DP has done this pregnancy

I sent DP to get a baby detergent at the store, gave him the brand name, described what it looked like. He came home with Suavitel, the fabric softener and said he got it because there was a girl with a baby and it said "as soft as a mother's touch" so that's what I needed haha

Also now, whenever we are being silly and he jokes about saying something like "you know the rules, Im the man". When I make my angry face, he starts rubbing my belly and being all cute saying "Soph Soph!" (that's our nickname for Sophia haha). He says that's his new trick, that when she's born, he'll be like "go get me some beer woman" and start playing with Soph Soph and being all cute with her, because how can I be mad when there's such a cute baby in the room? hahahaha

I told her she doesnt know Soph Soph is my allied and since she's a ninja baby. She'll kick him if he dares to ever say something like that. We're very silly around here

My DH has been surfing the net researching everything to do with carseats, cots, books, washing machines -- anything we've needed to buy before our LO comes.

The other day he mentioned that he's been on parenting forums, and gets all excited when he finds a good post. How adorable

First he looked up pregnant belly videos on YouTube and he finally believed me when I said that eventually it looks like an alien in the belly

Then he looked up breastfeeding videos so he could get educated (and I'm sure enjoy catching an eyefull of boobs )

Not funny, but incredibly sweet, last night when we were watching "The Happiest Baby on the Block" DVD, he got all teary - "I can't wait to do that for our baby"

Is there a pill, shot..anything.. to get DH like that???? this is #7 for DH and he still has no clue about ANYTHING pregnancy, labor, delivery, baby related. I've been forcing him to change diapers on 21mo.. he's finally getting the hang of it ..kinda.

He DOES call home from time to time to tell me he got a sudden craving for something and wants to know if I "sent the mesage" or if it was the baby. I tell him it's his baby cravings cause he has more cravings than me.. so i tell him he is finally preg... wishful thinking lol

Also more in the sweet rather than funny vein, but last night my DH said he was really looking forward to labor starting, to supporting me through it, and to having our little one here. I asked him if he'd change the first diaper, and he said (perfectly seriously) "of course".

DH keeps reminding me that he gets to feed the baby too!
He asked if I could make sure I pump a lot so he can do feedings and I said that was fine as long as he did the night feedings a bit so I could sleep to which he replied "feedings?" as in more than 1?! It was adorable and funny and he was a great DH and said he wanted to feed her every chance he gets!

We were waiting for my midwife to come in the room at my appt this morning, and DH looked at me and said, "So when is your due date? Two or three weeks?"

"Um, my due date is tomorrow sweetie!"

He was totally floored. No wonder he hasn't seen the need to help get things organized yet! I think he overheard me too many times telling people my due date is May 10th (the day I've been telling most people just to avoid excessive questions).

Well, if it makes you feel any better he did comment yesterday that when we go to visit his sister he wants to stop by his office so people can meet the baby. I asked if that meant he was thinking we'd be doing that sometime during his 2 weeks off and he said yeah. He was a bit puzzled when I told him I wouldn't be traveling ANYWHERE within 2 weeks post c/s, let alone taking baby on a meet and greet. So, there's still a bit of a learning curve there
