Most recent US statistics?

Are there new numbers out (or about to come out) regarding the percentages of circ'ed vs. intact boys in the US? The latest I've seen are from 2006. Aren't there 2008 numbers coming out soon? Does anyone know when?

Good question. I recently saw the number 52% floating around but all the hard data that I have found so far indicates around 55/56% for 2006. I don't know if there is anything for 2008. How are these statistics calculated? How big are the samples? I know that part of the data comes from a discharge survey or something. Are there any private companies/polls that track this? If somebody could answer this, I would appreciate it.

Marilyn Milos told me several of us that the rate was 52% for 2006, the latest results she had. I didn't ask her for a source on that. (I saw her in Washington DC for the Genital Integrity Awareness Week demonstration. She is a truly lovely lady!)

So 52% circed... meaning that the percentage of intact continues to rise? (Just hoping to clarify) That's good news.

And I agree, Marilyn is lovely:

Correct Jessica!

I have THE BEST pictures of her holding my baby boy. He's playing with the silver genital integrity baby pendent on her necklace. It's a GREAT shot! Send me an email and I'll share it with you!
