Swine Flu: History Lessons from 1976 Vax Campaign - Page 2

Oh don't worry gals....they aren't making 300 million...they are shooting for double that, you know, they want to make sure they can get everyone and spread the wealth to other countries who need our "help".

I made sure to choose a super mainstream news source...so as not to come off as "crackpot-ish".

Please don't panic...there will be enough to go around...I know everyone will be so glad when they announce that it's compulsary...

Monkeybum....stop ranting, start researching...it's deeper and sicker than you think.

Quote from the fox news article: "however, the government is preparing for worst-case scenarios, such as the virus' potential reappearance this fall in more sinister form." I guess they'll bring out the big scare tactics again this fall, and have plenty of vaccines to go around. I'm sure by then it'll have mutated to a highly virulent form too....

I suspect there's probably a *lot* more cases that they're not detecting because it's so very mild - maybe the person only has a cough or sore throat or something and only the very sick go in for treatment. I can't figure out how it would have hit so many tourists otherwise in a city of 25 million, but not the rest of the people living there. I hope that doesn't count as a conspiracy theory. I don't think it's a conspiracy, just the way things work with illnesses.

It's not *really* comparable in terms of the disease between now and the '70s, though because this isn't actually "swine flu" this time it's "swine-avian-human combo flu". I do think we can learn a lot from the rushed 70's vax campaign, though... like maybe the vax might be more harmful than the disease if it hasn't been tested thoroughly....

I just want to remind everyone that that 36,000 number is a combined total of flu and pneumonia deaths that's based on a mathematical model--not a concrete determination of death from the flu. It's more like 2,000 deaths a year from the flu--the rest may be compications that then develop into pneumonia...maybe.

They're fiddling around with the numbers there. Not really accurate at all. I think it's very misleading, and is just part of the whole scare campaign.

but I thought the deaths from the swine flu were from pneumonia complications, too?
