Anyone else anticipating going "late"?

Thread Starter
It's been so great to see all the May babies coming, but I'm also a little jealous! My edd is tomorrow and not a single sign of anything starting. This is my fourth and my others have been 16 days, 4 days, and 18 days late, so I guess I'm bound to go late again. Anyone else in the same boat?

I think I'll go late. I was induced w/ DD at 38 weeks (pre-e), so it's pretty much like having a first baby all over again...I have no idea what to expect.
And DH told me last night, he could really use a few extra days for work (he just started a new job, has deadlines, wants to be able to take enough time off work to really help out after). So...I was actually kind of praying last night that I could at least make it another week (I"m due Sunday). But it's hard watching all these mamas go into labor! I want to meet this little one!
I haven't had any real signs of labor either...no lost mucus plug, no regular ctx. I did have some pretty good ones last night, along with some cramping that kicked my butt for about an hour, but it went away.
We can hang out and be late together.

I think I'll go late. I was induced with DD after her due date with no signs of going into labor, I was late by a week and DH was late by a week. My MW and I are pretty sure this one will be late as well.

"Due" tomorrow too (by the date I gave my mw, I already past my "actual" edd, as reliable as they are ). All my others were late too. I am about ready to call it quits honestly. Post dates 7 times is enough. 8 times is I think gonna break me. No matter what I base my edd on I go late. LMP or Conception or US or nothing cause I had no clue. Its some evil conspiracy to make me insane.

While I don't necessarily think I'll go late, I also don't have any signs of going early. I'll be 38 weeks on Saturday and am not having any prelabor like signs.

I don't think it would be getting to me so much if I all these May mamas weren't having their babies yet either. I actually am feeling less anxious now than I was a week ago, so hopefully I'll find the calm before the storm and just relax... but I don't really see that happening either!

I have a big discrepancy between my edd based on LMP (may 6th) and my edd based on ultrasound (may 21st). So I'm with you on the evil conspiracy! I fully expect to go past the May 6th date, but I think going past May 21st would surprise me. I keep it in mind as a possibility, and my mws are using the later date so that I can go much longer without worry/talk of induction. It is super hard though, with all these May mamas having their babies already.

I'm "officially" due tomorrow (ultrasound date), and am due Sunday by my dates.

I went 10 days over with DD, so I don't expect to go until I get to 41 weeks with this one either. Baby is definitely getting lower, and I've been having some crampy contractions most nights, but they always go away after a couple hours.

If I have this baby before May 10th, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

My Edd based on us was April 18th. I gave my mw an edd of May 1st cause I always go so late.

If I go by the april 18th one I will be 42 weeks on Saturday. Can that count as my "Always go 2 weeks late"? Please, pretty please?

Plan to go over my EDD of the 17th but OB will only "allow" me to go to 41 wks which is on Sunday before Memorial Day so I will be pushing for Tuesday or Wednesday though since last time was the only natural labor I had. So we shall see.

I told a friend to come in on Memorial Day wked since it is a good wked to come out bc things pick up since we are a tourist area so if I have not had the baby then I will not schedule induction for then and if he tries then I will call and cancel.

My official due date is May 5th based on the 20 week ultrasound. My midwives & OB are relying solely on that date, not on my LMP (May 12th) or my ovulation date (May 9th). I guess they are more comfortable with unreliable technology than my knowledge of my own body. (Boy, am I getting more sarcastic the bigger I get!)

My concern is that I'm a VBAC and they get nervous if I'm normal. They seem to be comfortable with VBAC mamas going early, though.

My DS was 11 days late. My mom was at least a week late with 3 out of the 4 of us. My grandmother was 2-3 weeks late with 7 out of 9 kids. So, if genetics have any say, I'll be "late" again. I'm planning on a mid-May baby.

I am already 2 days late. DS was a week late. I have been really patient up until now but seeing all these May mamas go early has made me envious. I think on Monday I'll make an appt for acupuncture. I do not feel anything going on down there. DH and I tried to DTD last night and it was not pleasant for me at all, I just kept having contraction after contraction and afterward I felt 'banged up.' My ob has May 1 down as my due date and they just put me on the schedule for an induction on May 14th so I have potentially 2 weeks left . Seriously baby, come out now! DS was almost 10 lbs, I don't know why he stayed in so long!

Annoying, isn't it?

My midwives changed my due date based on a 2nd trimester U/S as well, even though I told them I was working nights when I conceived and due to the lack of alone time with DH, was *really* sure of when it happened. I always thought U/S dates weren't supposed to be accurate after the first trimester? Luckily it is only 2 days before the date that I am sure is my "real" due date, so I won't bother contesting it until when/if I get closer to 42 weeks.

I was temping, charting and using OPK's, so I KNOW when I ovulated. It puts my due date at April 29th. (Hhhmmmm, yes, that would be 2 days ago.) The U/S put me at May 1. I told the dates to my mw to put me at May 4. Since I'm going to have a VBAC, they don't want me to go over 41 weeks. And, yet, here I am with no contrax, no dilation, etc.

My mom was 17, 14 and 5 days late with her kids. But, "they" say you'll be pregnant more like your sisters than your mom. No such luck, my sister was 2 days early with her 1st and 20 days early with her 2nd. Unfortunately, I'm built like my mom, not my sister....

I heard Labor was supposed to be like your sisters. Pg length is supposedly related to the father. I don't even know how that works. They don't even have uteri. Of course I think its just some evil conspiracy to make us crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised if I went late, simply because I've been so desperate to come early I'm due in 4 days, and my dates are rock solid (IVF pregnancy) so no OB or MW has even mentioned changing dates. One of the 'benefits' of infertility I guess.

So far, I've been having very frequent, intense BH contractions since 34 wks. For the last week or so, they come every 5-7 minutes at night, but they're still BH as far as I can tell (the hard basketball tummy etc). I've never been in labour, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell the difference between mild contractions and intense BH, but I guess I"ll know as time goes on.

I'm trying for a VBAC, and will be a repeat c/s if I reach 42 wks, so I'm really, really keen not to go late. I'm considering asking my MW for a stretch and sweep (stripping membranes) at my 40wk appointment.
