I'm due the 30th...and still pregnant!
Just thought I'd bump this up

I would still prefer that this baby stay in at least one more week. Longer if she feels like it is ok by me (for now anyway ... don't hold me to that!)

We finally finished setting up the nursery. I'm packing the hospital bag today. But the house is still dirty and messy, and the labor pool isn't here yet. (Have to bring my own.) And, well, I think we're still not mentally prepared for this. But maybe we just won't be.

I *was* feeling ready for anytime, but now I have a cold sore on my lip, so I want that well cleared up before birth! (It can be very dangerous for newborns, so I'd have to not kiss my baby and be super vigilant about handwashing etc).

I'm due on the 13th, but I think my actual date may be closer to the 20th because it took me a week later than usual to get a positive pregnancy test. Plus, I have never not been in labour by now.

I'm still here, and still pregnant, but my chiropractor looked at me this morning again like he can't believe I haven't gone into labor yet. He said there's no room left and he wouldn't be surprised if I had the baby this week, although of course there are no guarantees. I think I have another week at least, but I also have a feeling that I won't get much warning before I go into labor (my mother didn't either; her water broke with me and I was born about 11 hours later). I'm 38 weeks today... it's already mid-May, everybody! (Isn't that amazing?)

Yeah, I oddly don't quite realize that it's nearly mid-May! I'm still amazed that it's May! Such a weird turn-around of feelings today, from feeling "ready anytime" to "baby stay in till this cold sore is good & gone!".

Wow--mid-May! Amazing!! This month is flying by! No wonder everyone is having babies left and right

I can barely keep track of these babies coming all at once! I have been trying so hard to feel ready, but really I just feel overwhelmed by all that is not done. Yesterday I finally got birth supplies ready, hurray! I still don't have enough diapers and covers and no newborn clothes for a boy(we got free girls clothes...but if it's a boy I don't think he'll forgive me for putting him in pink!). We have no boys names either The bh contractions have really been picking up too, but I could still be weeks away. This baby can't come before thursday anyway, when my midwife gets back.

All of that to say I'm trying really hard to make peace with the fact that the baby will come when he/she is ready to come, and regardless of what I've done to prepare for him/her all this baby really needs is me and my milk. All other stuff is just fluff. Whew! I'm going to repeat that some more so I can put my mind to rest and get some sleep.

still here!

Anyone else sleeping absolutely horribly lately? I actually started to cry last night because I just couldn't get comfortable and all I wanted to do was sleep for a few solid hours! (evil hormones)

DH and I did hospital food shopping last night. I can eat and drink as much as I want and powerades were on sale for .88 a big bottle so I got 5 (yikes, they aren't my favorite but it was a deal!).... We then spent an hour wandering around the grocery store trying to imagine what I could possibly want to eat during labor to keep my energy. The stuff we came up with was an odd assortment to say the least. Sharp Cheddar cheese sticks, my favorite. Kashi fruit and cereal bars, a couple of protein bars, Organic apple sauce and I think that was it. Kinda hard to know what I'm going to want eat never having done this...

Step 2 pack hospital bag after MW appointment tonight!
I am resigned to this baby not coming any time soon though. She hasn't dropped, no plug, no ctx low, no nothing. I am thinking June at this point

I could have written this! And we don't have names either--boy or girl. I think I'll do "baby laundry" today just to feel like I'm one step closer to being "done" with baby prep

I'm here too feeling good, she is definitely running out of room in there it's hard for me to move around, contractions are increasing but I still feel like I'm good to go at least until my due date of next Friday, so we'll see what she decides to do! It's so nice to know preggos are still out there

It seems like nearly everyone has had their LO already! I haven't even been able to keep up with all the birth announcements!

Yay for us late girls. I'm guessing I'll still be here for a couple more weeks at least to chat with the 3 other ladies who will have not had their LO by then!

IM due on the 31 which seems so long off.
I cant picture getting any bigger.
That said i did get my giant self over some logs to cross a river on Mothers day. Hmm:

So im trying to be relaxed and enjoy my last pregnancy.
Laundry done, bag packed, infant set installed.... im ready, she isnt.
I guess she will come when ready.
Glad you ladies are here with me.:

We're still hanging in there, 38 weeks as of yesterday. I am still waiting on furniture for the nursery, so maybe I'll have time to get it all together.

I'm still here too! I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't keep up with the birth announcements. There was a run on them and I got really confused on what I'd read and what I hadn't.

I'll probably be here past my EDD just because it's my luck that I'll be about the last to go.

DH and I are going to a really nice spa on Saturday for something fun to do before the baby comes so baby has to stay in until at least Saturday evening. Will saying that jinx me????

I'm 39 weeks today woot. Going to the midwife tomorrow. I kind of doubt anything will have changed since Friday when I was high and closed but we'll see.

I'm wondering what food to pack as well! It's my first too, so I have no idea. The only things on my list are bananas (for energy and they're easy to eat), muesli bars, and white bread sandwiches cut into triangles with the crust cut off - don't ask me why! I never eat them like this!

I've also stocked up on Powerade. Made sure I got the bottles with the pop top, not the screw top. And two bottles of water, one is in the fridge so I have a room temp one and a cold one.

Now that the birth is getting nearer, I'm starting to worry about things like breastfeeding. I dearly want to BF for the first 6 months, but what if I don't have enough milk? Or something else goes wrong? There's probably nothing I can do about it right now though.

You should head over to the BF board while you are waiting on this baby--I think that would make you feel better! Almost every mother can successfully BF a baby. The biggest thing to do is to nurse, nurse, nurse (and rest and DRINK lots of water)! None of that scheduling stuff or expectations of them going a certain period of time between nursings when they are small. My newborn babies nursed so frequently that I could not even guess how much time they spent at the breast those first few weeks--I would say they were either sucking or sleeping (or sucking while sleeping!). The first week or two can be hard but after that its usually pretty smooth going. BF takes practice for both mama and baby so don't expect both of you to get it immediately!

I'm due on the 31st but I seriously doubt I'll make it that far (although I never thought I'd even make it this far). I've been having non-stop (3-13 minutes apart) contractions for almost 3 MONTHS now (since 26 weeks) but I'm still pregnant! My contractions have been getting a lot stronger these past 4 weeks-- they're consistently lasting about a minute and a half now and are strong enough that I have to breathe through them a lot of times. Every night I go to bed thinking I may wake up in labor, but nope, I'm still pregnant every morning! Baby seems pretty high up too since every time I have a contraction it feels like my uterus is being smashed into my ribs. There's no room AT ALL between my uterus and ribcage!

Here are some good resources I've found that might be of benefit to you:

KellyMom's site

Dr. Jack Newman's site

Also, I'd start looking to see if you have a local LLL and also who's available as a lactation consultant in your area. I used to share an office with an LC and I think the biggest "mistake" she consistently saw was women waiting too long to get help. If things aren't going well, the earlier you intervene the more likely it is you can get back on track.

I'd also suggest going to YouTube and looking up breastfeeding videos. There's a lot of good help on there re: positioning and what to look for with latching on. Having enough milk the large majority of the time has to do with the quality of the baby's latch.
