Today, I was reading an NPR article about Texaco/Chevron and the lawsuit filed against them by residents of Ecuador's rain forest. Here's the link, in case anyone's interested: Rain Forest Residents, Texaco Face Off In Ecuador.
I know there's not necessarily a "good" oil and gas company out there, but I'd like to be giving my money to one that's at least a little less terrible than its competitors, if such a thing exists. Any ideas?
The gas stations fairly close to me are:
Texaco
Chevron
Shell
Diamond Shamrock/Valero
Exxon
Citgo
Mobil
Phillips 66
WalMart
HEB (Texas chain of grocery stores)
Randall's (grocery store chain owned by Safeway)
Further away are:
7-Eleven
Conoco
Costco
And then there are a few no-name gas stations. I have no idea what brand they buy - or whether they always buy the same brand....
Thanks in advance, mamas!

And, looking into it, I don't see anything terrible about Citgo - well, not on its Wikipedia page, at least....
