Who's done the Dr Sears total elimination diet? - Page 2

My DS reacted horribly to wheat and eggs at 2 months when I was on the Dr. Sears' TED! Yikes! It was awful. We had bloody stool for days after each food.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that now at 8 months we are basically allergy/intollerance free. : I've been eating almost everything I used to eat, and he's barely had any problems. I drank several soy lattes in the past couple days, and I think we're JUST starting to notice a slight reaction. I guess I need to cut back a little, but I think I'll be fine with normal consuption of soy in typcial foods. I've been devouring bread, and even my DS is able to eat it now.

I hope you will find some resolution as well! I hope it's just a matter of time for your LO too.

I'm curious if anyone has ever went completely raw...no cooked or processed foods. I haven't tried it while breastfeeding (although I will be trying it hopefully soon)...but I started it the end of January and I feel so amazing, alive, allergy free...and I got unexpectedly pregnant after 2 months which has only happened to me once prior in a total of over 9 years.

I was experimenting tonight and this was pretty good

TED friendly Pear Crisp

Layer peeled, thinly sliced pear in small oven proof dish. Sprinkle with rice flour, drizzle with brown rice syrup. Repeat. Make a topping out of about 1/4 cup rice flour, spoon of rice syrup, and a little oil. Stir to make crumbs. Spread on top. Bake 350 about half an hour until bubbly. (this made just enough for me, I used one pear)

nicolemarie - I have been (unfortunately) avoiding raw veggies because cooked is easier to digest and less likely to cause upset. Dr Sears description of the diet includes a mention of this. I did notice a big improvement in my energy after cutting dairy (I'd done that a week before doing the TED).

Taryn - This sounds very yummy. When you can add oats and/or peaches you should try it again... I will be trying it soon myself!

Are you seeing success? What day are you on?

hippychick - Thanks for the encouraging words. I think we will be on the same path eventually, just waiting for the day I can sit down to chiles rellenos!
