My drier (only a few months old ) has melted plastic inside it. I bought some cheapo Gerber plastic training pants as part of an effort to try out a whole bunch of different kinds while my three-year-old is potty learning. I threw them in with a hot load so I could use them the next day, and dried the whole load on hot. One of the plastic pairs melted and stuck to the back of the drier, which is comprised of a kind of circular metal grate. When I peeled it off, an area about the size of a notebook was covered in a thin layer of blue plastic.

I've gotten most of it off by running the drier on high for a few minutes with a wet rag inside, then peeling it off with my fingernails. I've been working on it for two days whenever I get a spare minute (which isn't often), and there are some bits that I just can't seem to get off. Meanwhile the laundry is piling up. I *just* switched to cloth diapers and *just* got my set-up completely in order, and now I've had to go back to disposables. No room in the apt. to air dry anything. I'm SO FRUSTRATED. Help!
