My fantasy has changed as I am in a different parenting stage now.

Now I'd love to go to an all inclusive resort for four days TWICE....

once with just DH

and then another time with my girlfriends!

Well, I'm a single Mama and the kids go to their Dad's on the weekend so I have time, I just don't have money! My fantasy would involve me having an unlimited budget and going to get a pedicure, facial, massage, brow tidy, haircut and then maybe another massage. Then I would go out and buy some new clothes and have sushi. Theeeeen I'd get out lots of movies and spend the rest of the weekend on the couch watching movies.

my fantasy would be to wake up after a long nights sleep with perfectly pin curled hair and legs that dont need to be shaven. then i would walk into the CLEAN living room with no toys scattered around, into the CLEAN kitchen where my dh is making breakfast CLEANLY and my toddler is eating breakfast and my baby has somehow breastfed himself so i could sleep in (lol). then he would take the boys all day (again, impossible since ds2 is EBF) and not call or text me.

during that time i would clean and declutter and organize and do the laundry in PEACE. then i would watch my old '40s movies, surf the internet, paint my nails, eat godiva chocolates, and when dh comes home, he puts both the boys to bed (again, impossible but whatever) he would not fall asleep with them, but come back, we would get a babysitter because tonight ds2 will STTN, we will go to a great rockabilly show, get drunk off of our butts on jack n coke, come home, then make blissful love.

sigh.

Wow, thanks for the smile. I was able to drift off for a second and picture my perfect day....and everything just seemed to calm down!

I'd wake up at me leisure, go to the gym and train for 1.5 hours then have a nice lunch at home and eat it while completely engrossed in a book. Then head for to a spa to have a massage/facial/makeup/hair style/pedicure/wax  (It's been a very long time since I have had my hair done, make up on and toe nails done all at the same time ;)) Then have an expensive dinner out with hubby followed by some dancing and lots of wine.

Lol, I should copy and paste this to an email and send it as my request for Mother's day, hmmmm

I'd wake up naturally after sleeping for 16 hours straight. My DH would make breakfast and my favorite coffee, feed and entertain the kids, while I took my meal out to the back porch and enjoyed the morning sunlight while reading a book. I'd take a hot shower, get into some comfy yoga pants and do some yoga, again on the back porch. I'd wander around our backyard, pulling a weed here or picking flowers for a bouquet. Then I'd eat lunch with DH under the maple trees while the kids ran and played by themselves. I'd take a long nap in the hammock, then wake up and walk into town to the farmers market. I'd buy a bunch of yummy food for the dinner that would be made by someone else, and head home, stopping at Tubbys for the most insanely good ice cream I've ever had. I'd head back out to the hammock with a good book, or maybe a trashy romance novel. Of course, I'd have a never-ending alcoholic drink in my hand while I was reading. Then we'd have a fire in our outdoor firepit, making S'mores and eating dinner. Then I'd head in for a candlelit soak in our extra long, extra deep tub and finish reading my book. The kids would miraculously have been put to bed so that DH and I could watch our favorite movie "Empire Records" and have a couple drinks together. Then we'd head to bed - without two children sleeping in the room with us. We'd then go outside and soak in the hot tub while gazing at the stars and talking about our dreams of the future and memories from the past.

Sounds like DH and I need a day off together, a personal chef, a babysitter, a hot tub, and a lot of money for drinking and ice cream...

My fantasy day:  I get to sleep in until whenever I, not one or more of the kids, decide I'm ready to be up.  DH will be up before me and have the kids medicated, breakfasted, bathed, and dressed before I deign to go downstairs.  The kitchen and living room will be clean.  The washing machine will be spinning the previous day's clothes.  I will have all the time in the world to take a long, hot, shave-my-legs shower (and the water will drain properly--not take 30-45 minutes).  Then, there will be money and cooperative weather to go somewhere fun as a a family.  We come back in the afternoon and I take my older daughter to get our hair and nails done and drop her at her best friend's house to stay the night.  In the evening, DH and I get a sitter for the younger two and we go out to a nice dinner--with money for a taxi so we can have a few drinks (we refuse to drive after drinking anything) and a Barnes and Noble browsing session.

My other fantasy--DH takes the kids somewhere for a week (say to his parents' in Oklahoma--we live in Washington and $$$ just aren't in the bank).  I take a week vacation from work and just declutter and clean the house.

This thread is delicious.

There are so many ideas in here I like. But here's mine:

I want to be able to drive up to the base of the mountains, go to my favorite trail head at around 8am in the morning, when it is overcast and cozy. I'll wear something cozy and warm, like fleece. I'll savor the silence around me and focus on the single sound of gravel crunching under my feet. I will feel alone in nature, and at peace. I will think clearly and breathe deeply. I want to hike the first stretch then jog the rest, jog freely, and enjoy it -- not jog because I need to sneak exercise in while someone is with DS or because I need to get my body in shape -- but jog because I am free, and alive. I will smell the pine trees and after I've jogged, I'll stand and look down at the city, and feel a deeper sense of self.

DS just woke up from his sleep and his crying.....back to reality....

I instantly thought of the beach.  My husband and I, on lounge chairs with drinks in hand sitting on a sunny beach.  Watching the waves, sitting and relaxing ALL DAY LONG!  That's my fantasy nod.gif
