Leaning towards no vax, but should "I" be worried?

Hello all,
Thank you in advance, I have found this site so helpful as a starting point in my research about vaxs.
I'm 22 weeks pregnant and am almost completely sure I will not be vaxing my child or future children.
I was completely vaxed, and so my question is, lets say dd gets measles, or mumps or whatever, should I be worried for me or my dh (also fully vaxed as a child). Do I need to keep getting the boosters?.. Not that I think they will protect me 100%..
Any insight or advice will be greatly appreciated, I do not want to get any shots, and Im sure my children's immune systems will be able to do the job they are intended to do, especially seeings as I plan on breastfeeding for a very long time, but Im a little worried about my immune system, seeing as I have been fully vaxed in the past.
I hope this made sense, Im up far too late!

Welcome!

Your concerns do make sense and I think about that stuff as well being I have an unvaxed 1 year old son. However DH and I are not running out and getting boosters. I focus on keeping our immune systems strong and taking my chances that I still have some level of immunity to childhood diseases even though I have not been vaxed in ages....
When I was pg, they took my titre for rubella which is standard here in the US and I had immunity and I have not had an MMR since I was a kid so.....

If you are concerned by not have your titres drawn??

I believe vaccines harm the immune system a so why would I get bootsters and knowingly harm my own immune system further than the damage that has already been done by my childhood vaccines?? Makes no sense!

I agree with Marnica. My dh and I were vaxed (I was not vaxed for pertussis though. My mom knew someone who was severely hadicapped after the vax.)

I am not really concerned. My 4 yo seems to have mumps right now but I am focusing on keeping us all healthy.

after learning the production process and vaccine ingredients I have decided that I personally would rather take my chances on getting the disease even if i was certain i would get it and die from it before i would take another vaccine. I would rather die a fast and natural death than suffer the adverse effects that those vaccines can have. I also learned that several of the vaccines are produced from cultures grown on skin cells from aborted babies. I am very pro-life, so this is enough to make up my mind just by itself. Bottom line is, i won't take vaccines anymore for the same reasons that i won't vax my kids anymore.

Since most childhood diseases spread via the vaccine, I am not sure that most of us don't have natural immunity anyway. For sure we do for rubella according to studies from Switzerland.

If you are concerned, I would suggest that the moment you suspect your child of having a childhood infection (which most likely will not be a big deal), take some Vitamin A and C for a few days. That's what I would do and then trust my immune system to take care of me.

Eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, take care of yourself and don't fret something that we actually have no control over (it is not healthy).

We have 4 unvaccinated grandchildren and dh and I have decided never to let it worry us. Whenever one of them is sick, (which usually only last a day or so) we most often visit and help out.

I think looking at individual illnesses is important. I expect to get pertussis with the kids, so reading about how to support us all through it is important to me. Most of the other things seem less likely, though if the kids ever got Hep A, I doubt I've had it (I think I remember a third of adults have, but I seem to not get stuff or get it older than most) so that's a possibility too.

Ok thank you!
I was pretty sure I wouldn't be getting any more shots for myself after actually looking into them, but I just wanted to double check with other like minded people, to see if maybe there was something "scarier" for an adult to catch than the vax itself.
I'll continue my endless hours of reading, I'd love to find some resources on what to do / how to treat these diseases naturally, so that I feel a little more confident and prepared.
My other concern is when I have a new born and an older child who may come down with one of these diseases, should I worry about the baby? I know that vaxing won't eliminate this risk, but I just thought I'd put it out there.

Forgive me if I'm slow on the up-take, (it's been known to happen) but...

You are choosing not to vax your children ()so you are obviously not that scared of your children getting the diseases we vax against, so why are you scared of you or DH getting them?

BTW, I'm in Canada too - if that makes a difference - and we don't vax (2 boys - 2 and 5) and I am completely unafraid of any of the diseases we vax against, (other than Pertussis in a premature/newborn, but vaxes don't protect them anyway so it's a moot point...). I am VERY scared of vaccines.

I spent countless hours reasearching this over the years and I am totally confident in my decision. I'd be happy to share my research with you. (PM me). 99% is taken from Public Health Agency of Canada, Ministry of Health, Stats Canada, and the British/American/Canadian medical journals (i.e. only "reputable" sources).

I've been researching as well and would love to see your links! Please PM me. My son is unvaxed and I have scheduled him for his first immunization next week, but it isn't sitting right.

Carolyn, one book I found interesting is Aviva Romm's "Vaccinations: A Thoughtful Parent's Guide: How to Make Safe, Sensible Decisions about the Risks, Benefits, and Alternatives." It lists the different illnesses and symptoms and how to treat them. Also, "How to Raise a Healthy Child...In Spite of Your Doctor" (Robert Mendelsohn).

Hi again!
I am only a little worried for DH and myself because from what I've read these diseases are often worse for adults. That and the fact I doubt our immune system is as strong as I would like, because we had been fully vaxed.
I would love any resources / extra info, so please feel free in PMing me!

I will look online for those books and likely be ordering them, thank you!
