doing too much

Anyone else pushing themselves too hard?

I'm in MAJOR nesting mode and freaking out to get things done. DH works a lot and isn't available to help. I'm finding that I push myself too hard and end up with an aching back and feeling miserable, but as soon as I catch my breath I'm at it again.

Long story but we had our cats confined to our guest room for the last year due to my son's severe allergies. DH got a garden shed finished out with a/c and all for the cats and I moved them out there yesterday (they have access to the outdoors for the first time in their lives in a safely fenced in yard!! We call it their "retirement home")

Anyway, I had to get all the allergens out of the guest room for my son and so that our allergic family member can stay in there. I mopped the walls twice, washed the baseboards and shampoo'd the carpets in there twice (with a special allergen neutralizing shampoo). DS rolled around int here without so much as a sneeze

There is still a lot left to do before I'm ready for babe and I'm killing myself trying to get it all done. (Tomorrow I tackle the guest bathroom....)

Any one else?

I'm not now but i was for a while. Unfortunately exhaustion and pain took over and won! now i'm watching conractions 24/7 praying this baby comes soon! i have soooo much to do and cant

Enjoy your energy! but DO take time to take care of yourself so maybe you can STAY doing things right up until delivery time! remember to drink! I know i wasn't as good about it when i was so busy, didnt realise it for a couple days though

thanks. I'm glad that I'm done with the physically difficult stuff, I was staryign o worry that I could be hurting the baby. The urge is completely uncontrollable though.

From here on out though I will be asking DH to do any heavy lifting or things that are too demanding physically. I relaly need the carpets shampoo'd upstairs and that machine is a beast. It'll be hard to watch poor DH do it on a weekend, but that's just part of it I guess. I'm done with the hard stuff!!

I did take a break and laid in bed for a few hours today, my body just revolted and gave me no choice.

i do need to drink more water, thanks for the reminder!!

Let's see...

I started about 10:00 a.m. today. Put away the rest of the baby shower things we got. Then decided the couch was dirty, so I got out my steam cleaner and cleaned every inch of it. Then I pulled the couch out and vaccumed under it. Emptied out the vaccum and did it again. Vaccumed the living room...Then took my steamer and cleaned the carpet. Then went to the top of the stairs and steamed those too. (They were gross..They're too hard to vaccum, so they were awful. Scrubbed the kitchen cabinet doors and the kitchen floor. Tomorrow is bathroom day, and I need to vacuum upstairs. Probably will wash bedding as well......

No, you are definitely not alone. I am seriously overdoing, and I cannot seem to stop.

I haven't noticed in difference in baby's activity level.

I run a business from my studio at home using very large cast iron antique machinery (everyone laughs that it's my 'shed' instead of my husbands, and I'm the one who like operating heavy greasy machinery!). My job is so very labour-intensive, but I have a certain number of orders that I must fill before I can officially switch off and go on 'maternity leave'.

I'm the only one qualified enough to fill these orders, so even though my husband and friend are helping when they can, there's only so much they can do.

Technically, I should've stopped doing this kind of work at 30 weeks at least. It's just so hard on the body. I'm miserable because all I want to do is relax for the last couple of weeks before baby arrives. I'm worried that I'll still be working and feeling exhausted when he decides it's time. I'm also really worried that I'll have bub before I can fill this last big order and upset my client.

Once I actually stop and relax for a bit, he gets a bit more active...Almost like he's beating me up, like "Ok mom, knock it off!"

I'm itching to get busy and get some more work done around here, but now I'm nauseous. And my hands hurt. So I'm going to be lazy till the afternoon, then I will get my bathrooms done.

Sweetie came home last night and said the house was cleaner than it has been in a long time, and was very happy and proud of me. Then he took his socks off and put them on the floor. : He did take them upstairs when he went to bed, I think he knew I was mad..lol
