I haven't told dh yet. I'm going to try to wait at least another week since it's so early. I'm half expecting to m/c...

I've been trying to call my best friend all morning but I keep getting some weird message that phone lines are all busy.

I understand that feeling. For some reason this time around I was expecting it to (and granted it could still happen but now that the shock has settled I'm not as expecting). How are you feeling about it? I know you have said you wouldn't mind an oops but now that it's here how do you feel about it? I'm excited for you....I've wanted you to get that last baby since I first saw you mention it.

ETA: I just looked at your FF chart...crazy how alike all your pregnancy charts are (the overlay!). That's neat to see (I know those are just the live births). I wish i had truely charted with both the girls so I could compare.

fertility friend?

So I see that a lot of you have links to fertility friend in your signature lines, and so I'm thinking it might be good to use, too, so I can get feedback on my wacky cycles.

When I went to register, it said it was only for couples TTC. Um, I guess they're not that strict about it, right? We're TTA...but naturally...so that we can TTC...

Marinewife- No way!! We jinxed ourselves for sure. FWIW my ND had me start using progesterone cream just in case and I got my bloodwork back and my levels were nice and high. So that eased my mind some. It was scary to actually see the BFP, but we are thrilled now. I am already showing! Good luck to you! I hope everything works out how you want it to. *hugs*

Um, yeah, just ignore that...it is set up for TTC so it's not ideal for TTA but you can use it for that. I think one of the main reasons they say that is so you can't sue them for getting pregnant unexpectedly since you weren't using it correctly.

Thanks, OMM. Now that it has really happened I'm sort of shocked. When I first started CTA, I wanted another baby. As time has passed I got to the point where I could go either but getting more used to the idea of not having any more babies. I imagining the future with just older kids so that I would have more time for myself and my dh. I think that's one of his 2 main concerns about having another baby. He sees our life dominated by the children with virtually no time for us. He's also concerned about money, which I can understand since he's the sole breadwinner.

cahwilson ~ Isn't that ironic? We both jinxed ourselves. There's a lesson to everyone else. Don't get complacent because you think you aren't likely to get pg.

wheatchick ~ What BFS said. Ignore that stuff about ttc. You can use it for cta but keep in mind it is geared toward ttc. I think Ovusoft is better for CTA if you've got a few bucks to spare.

Ok so I'm entering my information for the past week or so into fertility friend. I had spotting while still on the active pills, and then on the placebo pills, for a total of 7 days (the last day was actually perhaps "light."). But when I put six days of spotting and then one day of "light" into FF, it moved all the spotting to the previous (non-existent) cycle...so right now it looks like I have had one day of period...should I just keep it all as spotting? I'm off the Pills now, so I know it goes going to be all wacky for a while anyway...

wholewheat ~ There is a way to merge cycles together. Not sure how you'd do that with a non-existent cycle. If you can't figure out a way to override the software to start your cycle on whatever day you think it started, you can just lie and put light AF for that day. Explain to me what you mean by active and placebo pills? Is this in your pack of bcps? If so the placebo pills would be taken for the week before AF, right? If that's the case, then day 1 wouldn't be until the day after you finished the placebo pills, anyway.

Well your oldest is only almost two right now right? (Same age as mine!) So that's only an additional two years you'll have to wait until you have older kids!

You know I don't think it's going to matter too much for now, but you could put the first one as light, as MW said, or all of them as light, or all of them as spotting, I believe that would start a new cycle.

Actually if I remember correctly from when I was on BCP the placebo pills is the week you bleed. So you would start CD1 with the first day you took a placebo.

You mean my youngest, right? Yeah, he'll be 2 next month. Both the 5yo and the almost 2yo still sleep with us and they won't go to bed/sleep unless I lay down with them. Problem is that I fall asleep if I lay down with them early. DH falls asleep before I go to bed so our schedules are just all off. We have tried getting the LOs to sleep in their own beds in their own room but that didn't work very well. I just spent the entire night jumping from one bed to the next whenever one of them woke up and didn't get any sleep.

Ah, ok. It's been years since I took bcps, like 1989. There are so many new things available now I have no idea how they work.

Thanks, BFS and MW, for the help. I'll just leave it the way that FF wants it. I didn't start temping till this week anyway, so it's not going to matter much, as you said.

Yes, you're supposed to bleed on the placebo pills (it's withdrawl bleeding) but mine got all messed up...which is the main reason that DH and I decided to start charting now, vs. next month. And because I had EWCM when I had gone the week without the active pills...I'm hoping this all settles out somewhat quickly! :

Congrats MW! I am sure it will work out ok. There is a book that I would recommend for the sleeping thing. Its called sleep baby sleep It has solutions for getting your kids, even older ones, to sleep in their own beds after you have been co-sleeping. I loved it and DS did great with it. A girlfriend of mine got her DD to sleep through the night after 3 days when she was still getting up 3-4 times a night. Anyhow, I liked it and you might find it helpful as well.

MM: Good luck with everything! I would be a stress case in your situation.

AFM: with todays temp, FF gave me O on CD14 on the FAM settings... does it not even take your CF into account? CD14 makes no sense! I left it on advanced. I think the CL is too low, but it doesnt really matter since O is on the right day. I would rather not override if I dont have to. So, I am out for using Doering to get extra safe days, bummer. I may even be leary using the 1st 5 days rule... No pre-O nekkid luvin for me now! Especially after all you girls making me nervous, LOL!

So, I am still having TONS of ewcf and have HSO cervix. I am not so sure I o'd yet...guess I have to wait and see what tomorrow's temp looks like. I can hardly contain my excitement though, but don't want to get my hopes up too much. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I tried to start charting and realized that I definitely need a basal thermometer and I need to do it BEFORE I get out of bed, not just before I eat or drink anything. My temperature has gone from 97.5 (day 1) to 98.5 (day 2) to 96.4 (day 3) and then when I took it a second time this morning it was 0.4F different than what it was a minute before! So obviously the thermometer sucks.

I have another ? - so I get CM on my toilet tissue and it's stretchy, but there's very little of it. How would you mark this?

Makes sense to me! That's exactly where I'd put O on your chart. Peak Day will not necessarily line up w/the last temp before your shift.
