May PVD playgroup!! - Page 6

Are we getting together tomorrow? Look like it is supposed to be a sunny day
post #102 of 143
we're out of town 'til tomorrow evening, so we can't meet...

oh, poor amy! big hugs. refusing icecream sounds really miserable.
if you're on lockdown for too long, maybe we can google video chat to keep you company - wouldn't that be hilarious. gchat playgroup, but we would do it if you're lonely!

Looks like rain today after all
Yeah, it looks like rain. Tomorrow looks sunny and very warm if anyone is interested in meeting then?

I actually have a play date already arranged with a friend I used to work with...if people go to Humbolt though - I may see you there. We're planning on Roger Williams but I'm going to see if we can switch since it's easier for me to watch Sam at Humbolt and I'm feeling very tired lately...

I can't go tomorrow.

I have a meeting with the bigwigs here at the graduate school to beg for another year of funding, which I think will be futile. Sigh. I'm feeling really stressed/sad/scared about my job/school situation. I'm finally making progress on my dissertation, and now I'm being cut off by the grad school- they just told me that there's no possibility of funding for next year. It's so frustrating, and I don't know how I'm going to finish if I'm working a full time job AND taking care of Ocean. Oh yeah, I'll just work on it in the evenings after she goes to bed.: Not to mention, the economy is the pits right now- I don't even know if I CAN find a job.

Anyway, sorry to hijack the list. I'm just feeling down, and I needed to vent a little...

That's terrible Angela!
I hope your meeting goes alright and we see you soon.
Good luck!

Hope to see people on thursday! It's supposed to be a super nice day.
We are going to be outside doing our gardening tomorrow morning (hopefully) if anyone wants to stop by.

, Angela. I'm so sorry. I hope your meeting goes well. Maybe you, Debra and I can try to work out an alternating schedule for baby-sitting so that we can all get in some serious dissertation writing time.

D took Iris out this morning, so I'm planning to do some work while I have a little alone time. Hope everyone who goes to the park today has fun!

Thanks, everyone. Yes, Alana, depending on my job situation/lack of situation, I would definitely be interested in a dissertation writing swap. Let's keep talking...

Hope everyone is out there enjoying the weather. I'm working on my resume and wishing I were at the park!

Hi all! Just wanted to check to see if we are doing Humbolt on Thursday?

Also, if any of the dissertating mommas want to drop their child off there and then do some writing, I am happy to watch an extra one. I usually get there around 9 and stay till 11:30. I'm not familiar with dissertating writing so don't know if that is enough time to accomplish anything but I just wanted to throw that out there...

I don't have a dissertation to write but can I drop my kids off with you, Shalonne

As of now we are planning on coming!
Lol I'm only prepared to take on one extra!
Ug!

I had such a nice time a couple of weeks ago when I got to meet Ariana and leosmomma. And I've been hoping to come meet more of you but things keep coming up on Mondays and Thursdays. Tomorrow I have a job I have to do. We'll see how next monday looks.

(so sorry to read that Amy is so sick! I hope she feels better soon.)

Shalonne, thanks, this is so kind!

We're set for right now - we've still got Grandma around doing childcare - but I'll definitely be looking to mix it up and do some swaps once she leaves in July.

As for us, the latest crap-tastic news is that now JACK doesn't have funding for next year either. I alternate between being completely freaked about how we're going to live (um, did I mention that we're three weeks away from moving into a new apartment??), and maniacally laughing because the situation is so absurd.

So, I'm sending out job apps like crazy, and trying to work on my diss. Blah. I have a meeting with my advisor tomorrow afternoon that I need to prep for, so no park for me. Next week is also a wash, but after that, I really am coming... Miss you guys.

Angela- I'm so sorry Something is out there for you both(I know this sounds corny but, put it out there to the universe and it will happen)

Ariana- how is Amy doing?

lucymay6- Sorry to miss you tomorrow.

Steph- if you are going I have your blanket and bag.

We will be there

oh lordy, angela, it just gets better and better doesn't it? jojo is right, though, something is totally out there for you. manifest!!!!

amy is doing ok, thanks for asking. she is eating a little bit now, though not as much as i'd like. but she seems to be her chipper little self again, despite falling down the stairs on monday. bad news though is that she passed the virus on to chris. so now HE is miserable and not eating. so i'm thinking we'll stay out of next week's playgroups, and then maybe come the week after that? hopefully that way we will avoid spreading this plague around too much.

We must have missed everyone

Ariana- I'm so sorry DH has it now
Yeah, we had to leave around 11:30. Cranky, uncooperative kids.
Ariana, I'm usually ok with being around semi sick kids but this illness sounds horrible! Thanks for the self imposed quarentine, we miss you!
I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend!
Ariana- I'm glad Amy is feeling better.... sorry about Chris- but at least he can understand what's going on with him, kwim?
Angela- oh.my! I'm glad you're able to see the craziness and see it as funny at times... things will work out, they have to. The not knowing in the meantime, I know, must be super frustrating. Wish I had words of wisdom, funding, and/or a stellar job for you.

Is it too early to talk about Monday? I'm super excited that I have it off and while I keep getting asked if I can do x,y,z on Monday I've been adamant that I need to have a clear schedule- at least in the morning- in case anyone wants to do playgroup.
