Why are the Heather Ross print fabrics so hard to find?

It seems like every online store I have been to shows out of stock for her fabrics. Why is that? I LOVE her stuff. And I want to make some clothes for my kids out of her fabric, but I cant find a decent amount of her prints anywhere. I'd especially love to get my hands on some of that unicorn print and princess and the pea print. And that mermaid print. Oh, the humanity.

Anyone know the answer to this dilemma?

My understanding from reading online forums is that when she sold Munki-Munki she signed a "no compete" clause so she can no longer produce fabric lines for other companies (kokka/westiminster/freespirit) for a period of time. I know there will be a limited # of printing of her Far Far Away line and then that may be it for awhile. You can still find some of her stuff around it's just getting more expensive although I did just find some at JoAnn's fabric in fat qrt bundles and they were on sale. I got 2 packs and may go back and get 2 more so I can do a turning twenty quilt.

Crafter's Vision has lots of the Mendocino prints (mermaids).

I would love to find some of her fabrics at Joann's on sale!

This etsy seller usually has a good stock of new stuff. I see the new line is listed under the "new" category, not under heather ross.

Oh, I would love to find some of that fabric on sale! How nice!

That's too bad about the no compete clause, her fabric is so fabulous. I'll check out that Etsy store and the other website. I'm really really really obsessed with the pink unicorns and the princess and the pea fabric. I desperately want to make something for my daughter out of those prints

check out superbuzzy.com for that prints, they are not cheap though, also check out buntefabrics. i got that kokka print from a co op, i think its the only co op that ran it and it was more of what i can pay which is great!

good luck

Okay I found the Unicorn print in green at the Etsy store and also the princess and the pea print.

I might go back to her, she has a nice range of the Mendocino prints for $25 or $30, 6 1/2 yard cuts. I also might just go to the other website......

I found another Etsy seller who had 48 4inch squares of the Heather Ross lightening bugs prints, super duper cute! It was about $13. I think I will make a little quilt

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Holy smokes, puts that HR in my stash in a whole new light. I guess I need to think seriously about what I'm going to do with it.

I have a couple projects in mind!!!! I swear! I really do! I'm not just obsessed with her fabric

No really though, I've been meaning to make a blankie for my ds, just waiting for the right fabric to come along, and I think the lightening bugs squares will be perfect!!! And dd LOVES unicorns, the green will be perfect for a tunic-y/summer dress type design, something that she can wear on its own in the summer and then over pants and a shirt in the winter.

The mermaids (if I get them ) will be for me!!!!!

Weird that I found this thread while googling "mendocino"! I just happened upon what appears to be the entire line of Far Far Away (the princess and the pea collection):

Expensive as he!!, but it's sitting here tempting me with its delicious loveliness. (but I just bought a bunch of the mermaid fabric, so I'll have to refuse!)
