May Day May Day! It's May Weight Watchers!! - Page 11

*sigh* I gained 0.02 at my w/i in Wednesday, even though I stayed within my points all week. :

I think I figured out why, though! I have not had my thyroid medication for about 5 days because I've been too busy to pick it up. : I also woke up the morning after w/i and my fingers were so swollen I could hardly move my rings. I think I was retaining a wee bit of water. So, today I managed to get my meds refilled and the swelling has gone down.

My NSV for the week has been getting in all my servings of fruits and veggies by lunchtime! I got a gallon of fresh strawberries on Monday, so I've been bringing 1 c. of them, plus 1c. of raw veggies in my lunch. I always eat an apple or banana for breakfast, which rounds-out my 5 servings a day. Getting all that in by lunch is something I've been working on for a while and I've done it 5 days this week! Eating more fruits and veggies helps keep my hunger in-check so I don't snack mindlessly in the afternoon.

Hopefully the scale will be kinder to me next Wed.

Thanks for the quiz, CookiePie! I get 27 DP now, as I suspected, but I've been doing a point (or 3! :P) more for awhile. I know I have no one but myself to blame for this "plateau" so I'm getting serious about being OP again. And I do think I'll do simply filling. My materials are really old, though, from even before the Core program, so I may need some help learning the ropes! Anyone have a link to some SF info to get me started? From what I know, it closely matches how I eat anyway, and I'm getting sick of vigilant tracking, so I think it'll be a great program for me.
Great losses to lots of you ladies! Keep up the good work!

Kim, the Fiber One cookies are a snap!

1/4 cup peanut butter
1 dark chocolate Hershey's bar

Microwave until melted.

Add 2 cups Fiber One cereal and mix well.

Use a spoon to make 8 cookies on a cookie sheet. Freeze for several hours. 2 points each!

And Rosemary, I'm one of those freaky women who doesn't gain weight during pergnancy until the very end and then after birth, I lose it all with a couple of days, plus a few more.
So getting rpegnant doesn't freak me out.
It's how I'll probably reach my ultimate goal!

i do them differently-- i must have a really old recipe. mine is two normal sized hershey bars, melted in a pan. add-- i am doing this from memory-- i think 1/2c raisins and...hmm, 2c? fiber one cereal. divide into 12 blobs on a waxed paper sheet and refrigerate. 1pt each.

at Eastertime, i divide these into a muffin tin (12), lined with Easter themed cupcake papers. then i press 2-3 jelly beans into the middle of each one, and voila! very cute nests with eggs they are great for potlucks! though the jelly beans do add to the points value.

Those cookies sound so tasty! I am definitely going to make them. Had another good day today. Tomorrow is WI day and today is day 7 for me so a full week on program! Woo Hoo! I ended up using all but 4 of my weekly points, and I was under my daily points by a couple on a few days, but that was mostly because I was counting the deli turkey breast wrong. I was counting it as a point per ounce, but I asked at the counter today if I could see the nutritional info, and it is 2 ounces per point so I am really off by about 8 points for the week. Oh well, we will see how it all goes down tomorrow morning!

The only thing I really need to get on the ball about is getting healthy oils. I got them in on about 4 days. On the other days, I definitely ate plenty of other fats, but not what Weight Watchers defines as "healthy fats". I am going to make that my mini goal for next week. I think I am also going to clean out my fridge and cupboards of crap this week too to prevent temptation. I have all of these high fat/sugar snacks just sitting around that really need to be pitched. Plus it will free up some much needed space for more healthy things that are just sitting on the counter right now.

Hooray! I made it through week one!!! :

Down 3.8 today! : I was a teeny bit bummed that the woman who joined on the same day as me last week lost 6 pounds and her friend lost 7 who is on week 2, but I keep trying to remind myself that this is a journey, not a race.

Oh, and I made muffins out of chocolate cake mix and canned pumpkin for 2 points a piece and they are delish! I am going to try the high fiber chocolate/peanut butter cookies as soon as I have enough room in the freezer for them. Can't wait!

That's a good loss there, Pumpkin Pie. Great job! We're quiet this weekend for us, huh?

Congrats on all the losses & NSV!!

Jecombs, I'm sorry about that gain. Remember today is a new day. Weight loss is really not as linear as some people make it out to be, and that's ok. As long as your long-term trend is down, that's good!

Please, no more yummy cookie recipes!!! AAAACCCCKKKK. Not helping me. This month I've been feeling really funk-y. Like off. AF is still not here, and driving me crazy with what feels like 2 weeks of PMS (including cramps, did I mention the cramps?!?!.

My eating on Super Filling has gotten better as the week goes on. I feel like I really gorged in the beginning of the week. I definitely didn't stop once I felt satisfied. I never went past full, and was always comfortably so, but I still feel like I ate too much. I just feel weird, like tired & tapped out.

Anyone have any funk busting tips?

Ami

WI day: 196.1lbs. A gain of 2.8lbs. I think I may not be ready for Simply Filling. It's weird though, because my weight jumped yesterday morning & is staying about the same. All week it was at 194.4 (a gain of 1.1lbs). AF still not here, but I feel bloated since yesterday.

Ami, I'm sorry That weight will come off quickly. I think you are right about Simply Filling. You gotta be areful and it can be hard to be careful. That's why I'm not doing it yet. Hugs to you.

Can I get a rec for a scale that costs $20 or less? Even on sale is fine. Thanks!

Right now I'm thanking goddess for Simply Filling! I'm totally, completely, hysterically PMS'ing, which for me equals an insatiable urge to eat everything in sight. So far today:

Coffee with nonfat milk
Oatmeal cooked with half a big apple
ff refried beans (I went for a walk/jog and was screaming for protein when I got home)
sugar snap peas
a hard boiled egg
6 pieces brown rice california rolls
a sugar free vanilla iced americano with some soy milk

It doesn't look like a lot (and I think if I counted out the points I'd be ok even though I only get 18 a day), but no matter what I've eaten today I've just wanted something else half an hour later.

I know I would have handled this day differently had I allowed myself to eat off the filling foods list. I would have eaten just as often, but probably would have eaten very different foods, ones that would have sucked up more points.

DH is in charge of dinner, I believe it's going to be grilled chicken breasts with veggie skewers.

NSV of my day today! I went to a barbeque with friends that don't really know I am on WW, and I really don't feel like advertising it to absolutely everyone. I have told my close friends, but figure I can just eat very carefully when I am out with other folks rather than go into minute detail about my eating habits.

Anyway, I brought a boneless, skinless chicken breast that was 5 ounces, had about a tablespoon of barbeque sauce on it, brought fixings for a fabulous spinach/cucumber/tomato/green pepper/pear/raspberry salad that had all of my friends drooling, and drank water. I did cave and try the pesto that was being used as a dip for baby carrots, but I only had two carrots dipped in it, and I estimated the points as 5 to make sure I got them. I am pretty sure that is a bit high, but I wanted to make sure I didn't go over.

I was so happy, satisfied, and had such a great time, and didn't feel the least bit deprived at skipping the beer, wine, chips, and burgers. So happy!!!!

Congrats on all the losses this week!!!

I lost 0.5 this week. I'm very pleased! I missed some fruits & veggies & missed a dairy Fri & Sat. I didn't eat the salad I brought to work 2 says in a row which lead to my missing veggies. I tried to make up for it yesterday by eating all my fruits, veggies, dairy & drinking plenty of water. I & was hoping for no gain. So a loss in any amount makes me happy! Work is getting busy & I doubt I'll get a Saturday off for the rest of the summer other than in 2 weeks when we have the girls dance recital.

My little DD is sick & has is still asleep this is 2.5 hours past when she wakes up! Looks like we will have a very low key day today.

You are doing great!!! Don't compare your successes to anybody elses. I lost my weight VERY slowly, but I look great now. My doctor told me that her belief from watching different people follow different weight loss plans is that the longer it takes you to get the weight off, the more likely you are to keep it off.

And my experience from knowing different people who've done WW is the the quicker the loses are in the beginning, the worse they were eating/drinking before they started. Huge loses at the start are usually caused by people who were retaining a ton of fluid and now their bodies are flushing it because they are drinking more water, or people who were constipated and now their bodies are releasing it because they are eating more fruits and vegies. These aren't things to envy.

I think it takes a while to get the hang of Simply Filling. Not a few days, but more like few weeks.

I've been doing it quite a while and sometimes I still over eat on filling foods. Some of them are just so darn yummy!!

Please describe the funk in more detail.

Do you just need some new recipes or is it a different kind of funk? Would the hero icon help?

A meal plan for the week? A pep talk? Let us know, we'll all help.

Ami

So you are weighing everyday? While you are PMSing?

There are two plans for a reason, and I've gone back and forth. For me it really wasn't so much about being ready for one, it's just that one seemed easier than the other. Do which ever one seems easier this week. But don't get hung up on thinking that retaining some water before AF means that the plan isn't working.

yes, when I eat off the FF list and I'm having a hungry day (for whatever reason) I seem to eat a lot of trigger foods and just make the whole thing worse.

In my pms'y whining yesterday I forgot to share my NSV!

I've had five knee surgeries and have been told I need a knee replacement (at age 36). I've always worked out regularly, but have given up everything with any amount of impact....yet part of me wants to be a runner.

My daughter just made a select soccer team : and has a coach that runs with the girls before every practice. They start tomorrow, so yesterday I thought I would take her down to the track and walk/run a bit to ease her into it.

Alternating with walking, I ran a total of a mile AND MY KNEE DIDN'T HURT AT ALL!!!! This never would have happened before my weight loss, it used to hurt when I spent a few minutes running on the field with the soccer team I am coaching!

I'm thinking I'm going to start working on a couch to 5k, taking it slow. If it hurts I'll stop, but I'm thinking that the reduced weight is really making a difference and that I can do this!
