How do you get grease stains out of laundry? It seems like everything we own looks terrible due to grease spots.

I've been having decent luck with liquid spray and wash. It took out the grease stains from washing AND drying a tube of vaseline lip balm with ds's clothes.

My son, even at 9 years old still uses his shirt as a napkin or a towel, and he puts the neck of the shirt in his mouth on occasion when he is anxious.

After reading Clean Planet, Clean House, she said that stain stick was the one evil she used as she could never make something or buy something earth friendly that actually worked. She recommended the Spray N Wash Stain Stick. My target and Walmart recently stopped sellling them. I panicked because they actually work!!! I can only find them at the grocery store (for slightly more, of course.) I bought 8 the other day because I got scared that they are going to be discontinued or something!

I rub it with dawn dishsoap, then throw it back in the wash, works every time.

I've heard that Dawn is the best for grease stains too.

Dawn here, too.

Actually..... baking soda mixed with a little liquid detergent (like dawn) and rubbed on the grease spot works quite well. If said grease spot has gone thru the wash already it may takes a few times and it may not work totally. If you get it the first time tho, it works pretty darn good.

I sprinkle baking soda directly on spot and then add detergent/cleaner. Sometimes I've used BacOut with the baking soda.

Baking soda is amazing Love that stuff

Do you all think it has to be "DAWN" --- or can it be other ones like palmolive...??

I've had great luck with all of the liquid detergents I've used. For the past couple of years it has been 7th Generation-free&clear.

I usually only find the stain after it has been washed and dried. It's almost always for Dh's work shirts (it's not a messy job, he just is a messy eater

I agree that it doesn't have to be dawn. In fact I've not used dawn in many many years- too harsh for me and my sensitive/contact dermatitis prone skin. Just about any detergent will work IMO, including if you use liquid laundry detergent. I've even just used baking soda and water and it's worked, but I found it worked faster and better if I mixed the bs with bacout or liquid detergent.
