Best fitted and cover for toddler?

Hey mamas,

My DD is 18 months and we've always used a combination of BG, fuzzi bunz, and various other pockets and AIOs. I'm TIRED of the stink and stuffing! I'm thinking about switching to some fitteds and covers. Any recommendations?

I use prefolds, only. So, I can't speak about fitted dipes. But, I love Thirsties diaper covers.

So far I like the Thirsties fitted, but have only used it on my newborn. On my toddler, we've used Under the Nile which is unfortunately not making them currently and Ecobaby and they have worked well. I also just picked up a couple Tiny Tush One Size Fitteds to carry and I haven't tried them yet, but think they seem like they would work great for a toddler!

Oh and I love using the Thirsties Cover over the fitteds (or with prefolds).

I like wool soakers for my toddler. Although I have to admit I had her in a kissaluv contour the other day instead of a fitted (thirsties, kissaluv, little beetle) and the soaker wasn't tight enough (maybe why she likes them best too) and she had one of those poops that is like little rabbit pellets and one escaped onto the floor (eww). I have some wahm soakers from etsy and, my favorites (dd's too), little beetle wool soaker shorts. Otherwise we like the Bummi's Super Whisper Wraps.

PS

I am curious what others will say, as this combo (fitted and cover) gives me the most pleasure. I also think it is what is making my DD think about the potty more than my son ever did (we used FB on him and he felt drier, I would guess), though this could be because she is the second child or because she is a she...

When dd outgrew all her front-closing large diapers, and was only in diapers at night anyway, I bought her some Mother-ease Toddle-ease (like superlarge Sandy's) and plain Dappi nylon pull-on pants. They work VERY well, never leak, and she's able to pull them up and down herself. However, the diapers take forever to dry in the dryer and that annoys me.

Thanks for all the great info! Does anyone use the Bamboozle? I'm looking at it and liking it, but am not sure. So many choices!

Juliacat, how big was your girl when she fit into the Toddle-ease? I'm debating whether to get large sandy's or toddle-ease. My girl is 27lbs but she has a very, um, shapely bottom and is on the last snap on MEOS.

She was over 30 pounds, on the last snap on MEOS and had outgrown BGOS.

Very helpful, thank you. Can I ask you ladies what covers you're using? I don't like the ME covers, they seem to give my girls rashes, but what else fits over Sandys?

I love bamboozles.

My favorites: dreameze, crickett's, bubu bebe (hyena cart), and for covers I like swaddlebees. I used to love bummis super whisper wraps, but the quality seems to have changed. My older ones are awesome, but any I've bought in the last 6 months or so have velcro problems.

I have Bamboozles for my infant, and love how soft they feel even after many washes. My toddler wears the original TotBot, which is terry, and asfar as I can tell they're not very different beyond the fabric. They fit her really well.

Swaddlebee's are velour and pretty absorbent. Can you only have velour? Try bubu bebe, they're the most absorbent fitteds, and they're bamboo velour. Fluffymail on etsy has velour inners, too. If you can do fleece, try happy hempy's pocket fitted.

We use Dappi nylon pull-on pants; they're ugly, but they're cheap and they work.

Thanks for all the info everyone! After giving it some thought, I ordered the following

Mother-Ease one size with cover
AMP Hemp fitted
Sugar Peas Hemp fitted
2 thirsties fab fitteds
2 Heiny Huggers
2 bummi super whisper wraps (used these before with much luck)
2 thirsties covers

Whew! That was a lot of work :-)

Can't wait to get them in the mail now!
