MW says I'm in early labor Update post #30 things getting intense.

So for the last few days Ive been getting menstrual like cramps on and off. Yesterday I had quite a few, and this morning for like 2 hours I was sitting in the recliner reading and I had a TON, and while walking to the bathroom I had one that had me doubling over.
I had been pretty sure up until that point if they were real contractions or not, because it felt like cramps but at the same time the baby would be moving constantly during them. but after having the one that doubled me over I was then sure that all the previous ones I had were contractions as well.
When I lie down I feel them less and I am able to sleep, so I when I called and told her about everything and then going away/lessening when I'm laying down she says that she thinks I'm in early labor and that it may take a while.
Which is fine, my DH is a firefighter and hes on shift today and he works over a hr and a half away. Sooo... I'm keeping a close eye on whats going on because if I things start progressing I'm going to have to give him plenty of notice to get home in time. *sighs*
So I'm stuck home alone right now though I have my Mom and my good friend on Baby watch, which means they may come baby sit me later today if things are progressing.
So my Goal is to SLEEP and relax and eat.... My midwife told me to make sure to eat and drink plenty in early labor since as things get moving later I probably wont want to.
Eeek exciting!
Especially after having seen so many posts lately with all the other women having their babies! I'm so happy for everyone and can't wait to be apart of the Momma group. heh.

Exciting! I hope it all goes smooth and you have your baby in your arms soon.

Exciting! Sounds like you have the right attitude about it. Rest, eat, relax!

Thats the part that I was looking for with my labor. But I skipped all of that early stuff and was slammed with hard/active labor. It caught me completely off guard and was WAY more difficult that the first time when things dragged out for 30 hours.

Goodluck and hope everything gears up for you at the right timing! It'll be the wildest ride of your life!!

That is exciting... I've been a bit crampy the last few days too, though not nearly as much as you have been, so it's nice to hear things might be moving along for you! Looking forward to hearing more, and wishing you a wonderful labor and birth when it does happen.

So since I woke up again things have slowed down. Ive only had a few light ctrx's. Kinda disapointing, I'm going to go for a walk and go grocery shopping with my mom in a few hours when she comes over so maybe that will help get things moving again.
At least I hope it does. hehehehe

Good luck! Even if it peters out, your body probably did some important dilation/repositioning work.

Good luck! I hate to say it, but I've been experiencing the menstrual cramping and some seriously ouchie contractions for about a week now. Alas... I am still pregnant. Try to not to focus on it! My theory is, "A Watched Uterus Never Contracts!" LOL!!!!

Your baby will be here soon enough!

Yay!

I had those same contractions last night for several hours and then they dissipated when I laid down with my daughter. I figure things are ramping up. I was pretty convinced last night that it was just going to continue.

Today is my EDD. I had some crampiness in bed this morning and a contraction. It's way different from the general crampiness I've had for the past two weeks. Today I need to GET EVERYTHING DONE!

Error_kitten, I hope you are holding your baby soon!

I've had the cramps too off and on for a while. Hopefully will see some progress this week.

Kitten, I hope your labor picks up and you get some relief this week! :

Well yesterday for most the day I felt nothing then it started picking back up a little in the evening. Today Ive been cramping pretty much since I woke up, I had an appt with my M/W and asked her to check me just to see if there was any progress. There wasnt really I'm still fingertip dilated though now I'm 60% effaced.
I feel crampy pretty much constantly though luckly I can sleep though them.

Sooo... Things will probably take a while though she says they can progress at any time theres just no way of knowing.
I guess we'll see. heh

Update:
Yesterday was really really quite, I had almost no contractions at all.
Well that has all changed this morning. I woke up and said I was feeling like I was having them pretty regularly and my back was aching so my mom came over on her way to an appointment while DH was making me breakfast after that we decided to start timing them, sure enough their about 5-6 min apart and have been pretty steady.
I decided to take a nap, falling asleep was kinda difficult but I managed to do so and got about an hour or more of sleep. I was worried about wether it was real or not because every other time I lay down they end up stopping, well since I woke up they have continued to be about 5 min apart and are lasting about a min.
So yay!!!!
Their not super strong but I'm just glad theve been continous for a good 5 hours now. woot!
