Raw Feeding a Kitten? Options? Kibble?

Hello!

Our kitten will be coming home next week. She is so precious! My best friend's cat is the momma. My bf's cat (momma cat) eats whatever BF brings home that was on sale (Purina, 9-Lives...). And that is fine.

However, at our house...that's not for us. Our Akita is on a restricted diet (California Natural Herring & Sweet Potato) and our Catahoula is on the CN WITH Evo High Protien just to keep on weight.

Oh, and our dearly departed cat (Charlie) became accoustomed to Wellness Salmon kibble with a few cans of foo-foo food thrown in here and there.

So...here comes this adorable kitten. I am torn between just putting her on Wellness, or trying to feed her raw from the beginning? Any experiences out there? Wellness is about $14 for 2-3pounds? Is there any cost-saving to raw or visa versa?

Thank you!

We've been raw feeding our youngest cat since 12 weeks old, when we got her. All we did was cut the meat up into really small pieces (making sure to cut them completely so no pieces were stuck together, choking hazard). I feed my guys a pre-packaged frozen raw diet so the bones are already cut up into tiny pieces. Talvi knew the meat was food and ate it without any trouble.
I was glad we started her on raw from the start, converting our older cat (3 y/o at the time) was a little bit of a chore. Éowyn was used to having crunchy food available to her at all times and felt short changed when the bowl was empty. Her howls of dismay could be heard at all hours of the day and night for a couple of weeks. She ate the meat no problem, just objected to being told when meal time is and not being able to graze at her leisure. :
Grats on your new kitten!
Oh yeah... I spend aprox $14 every 2 weeks for their food. I feed 3 pets with that, 2 cats and a small dog. I think purchasing meat from the market would be cheaper, I just prefer the ease of the frozen raw, and it has added vitamins, which makes me happy. Good luck!
