I know that you really shouldn't use a combo birth control pill when you have a younger nursling because it can effect an unestablished milk supply but what about an older nursling, a 1 year old? I've been EBF my ds for a year know. He started solids about 2 months ago but still nurses 6xs a day on demand, none at night. I am really considering going back on the pill. I've had 5 cycles PP now and they are horrible. Long heavy painful periods, lots of pain around O and getting literally sick to my stomach during my period. I've spoken to my midwife and tried different natural ways to help stabilize my cycle and nothing has helped. The only thing that has worked in the past is a combo pill, mini pill did nothing. But I don't want my milk to completely dry up. So is there less of a chance of milk drying up if you have been nursing for a longer period of time? Oh and I'd use a low dose combo if that makes any difference.
