Breastfeeding and worried about disrupting

I'm hoping some of you can help me out here, with some of your experiences. I am breastfeeding my 20 month old son, and plan on letting him decide when to wean, which is obvious to me, that it won't be anytime soon. Last month I had a really bad ectopic pregnancy scare, which led me to believe I might of had to abruptly end our beloved nursing times. I really would like to try for another baby asap.......only I'm worried that that time might end up the 'scary' way again. Have any other mom's gone through any medical conditions that ended up having you wean your little one immediately? I originally posted this in different thread, but thought this way might help me out more. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry I have nothing to offer, but you might try x-posting in the Life With A Babe forum. There is a Baby Led Weaning thread there that might be useful.... HTH.

There are very few medical conditions that you have to wean. You wouldn't have to wean for an ectopic pregnancy. I nursed with cervical cancer, pneumonia, septicemia, getting IV meds for common variable immune deficiency, asthma, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, taking 10+ meds at the same time. I had 3 miscarriages while breastfeeding.
