Anyone else torn between being too tired to go through labor and wanting the baby out of your body? That's where I am today. I need to be going to bed earlier in the night. My dd gets up around 7am and I didn't go to bed until sometime after 11pm last night. That was stupid!

Yes, I'm there today. I didn't sleep much last night b/c of ctxs, but felt great this morning. As the day went on I started feeling nauseous and yucky... now I just want to take a nap but I have a mw appointment to go to in about an hour! I got about 10 minutes of sleep on the couch, but then someone called and woke me up. Still having some ctxs today, not nearly as strong as last night but they're there.

Asher I didn't know you could rub it on your belly. It's not something I am really interested in trying unless it is that or a pit induction at 42 weeks. Kinda a last resort you know?

Oh I don't exactly remember who I was talking about it with in last weeks chat (sorry the baby ate my brain!) but whoever suggested just leaving their carseat out in the weather and rain after the cat peed on it was a genius!!
DH and I did the enzyme spray and scrub and then I just left it outside for a week and brought it in today and it doesn't smell at all! I am so happy, now the cat doesn't have to die!

rusianthistle- So sorry you are still without baby. I am 40+6 myself and have an appt tomorrow. I may get the membrane sweep. I do not want to do castor oil. I have heard of castor oil packs where you drench a cloth in castor oil and heat it in the microwave then put it on your liver, but that is more for cleansing/detox. And where is the liver now? Totally covered by baby?

I am tired of the stares when I go out in public. I went to the pool today and got a ton. Today was the date that stuck out in my mind as when the baby would come. We'll see, nothing has been happening, as usual. I am worried that things are going to happen just like DS. MY water broke/gushed and cx were strong from the beginning, but labor was not all that fast. By 3cm I was getting double peaked cx.

I went to the Asian market the other day and 2 ladies asked me "how far are you?" I said "9 months, due any day." Their eyes got big and they asked "Is there just one?!" All I could say is "I think so." : Did I ever mention that my twin brothers were a "surprise" to everyone? I mean, my mom *thought* she was having twins and told everyone "It's twins." but no one believed her. She even had an u/s at one point (had to travel to the city 4 hours away because they were the closest place with a machine) and they "missed" the 2nd twin. And this is the first pregnancy where my mom has asked me "twin" questions after hearing about symptoms I'm having and stuff and then goes quiet and non-committal when I answer her... Kind of creeps me out a bit. It doesn't help that I keep thinking there's a boy AND a girl.

ETA: And I keep saying to DH "What are we going to do if there's TWO of them?"

Ya know if your 9m along you should be pretty big. I mean in general the biggest you'll be is at 9m so why are people soooo shocked when you tell them any day now and they look at you all wide eyed and surprised??
I don't get it. people can be so dumb!

I too thought for a long time there was twins. Even after the 20wk u/s but I'm sure now theres only one. I get the boy/girl feelings too. Which freak me a bit because at the u/s she was definitely a girl but I can't shake the boy feeling. It makes me wonder if there were two at first (a boy and a girl) but I lost the boy early early on??? I dunno.

You know, the thing that's freaking me out more than anything is that my mom is not saying anything. With both of my other babies she was like "No. I think it's just one." or "Nah, that sounds like just one to me." or something like that. This time, she's not saying anything like that and she keeps bringing it up. The best she'll give me when I ask her outright "Why? Do you think it's twins?" is ".... I don't know."
The fact of the matter is that this is the first generation (so far) with no twins on either side... My father's side had twins going back 8 or 9 generations, I think it is, and my mom's side had twins going back 5 (that we know of... that's as far back as we've managed to get so far). So there's a very strong family history of twinning for me. And DH's family apparently has a strong twinning streak as well (ETA: Which I know supposedly has nothing to do with it, but...). Then there's the fact that my first m/c was "suspected twins".... yeah. So I'm *always* suspicious of twinning but my mom's lack of reassurance is... well.. not reassuring!

Naturally after saying this this morning, I've had irregular contractions all afternoon. I had them for a couple hours at a time for weeks before DS1 was born though so I'm not alarmed. Just .

Hey ladies! I had to come back looking for similarly miserable bodies, I'm always worried people IRL get tired of hearing about contraction watch. I've been having regular ctx since friday night, they start getting close then space back out to 40 minutes. I have to say castor oil is starting to look awful tempting...

JacquelineR - that's interesting about twins running in your family and your feelings with this pregnancy, and your mom reacting differently! I guess finding out isn't too far in the future!

I get the "Are there two in there?"...no..."Are you sure?!" yes, I've had 2 ultrasounds and there are no twins anywhere in my family. I'm pretty sure! I'm just all belly these days.

Just got back from my mw appointment. I'm measuring 40 weeks and baby is ROT in perfect position. After losing a big chunk of mucus plug and then having some pretty serious ctxs yesterday, I'm pretty convinced that my earlier due date is more correct. Even if ( WHEN) I go past it, everything seems to line up.

My mw suggested evening primrose oil today, have you tried that? She also said that they do sometimes suggest castor oil once someone goes past their due date, just make sure you're super hydrated

I'm going to start telling people I was due yesterday.

Is that oral or topical? I don't know anything about it.

I don't mind waiting as long as I get some sleep, the last 4 night ctxs have kept me from sleeping. Not sure how much longer I can go w/o sleep. I really don't want to do anything to induce, but not sleeping is affecting my ability to handle my other girls, so I either continue flipping from horrible mama to extremely complacent mama or do something to get this kiddo out.

I second/fifth/ninth getting tired of people asking when I'm due especially when I say sometime soon. They look at me wierd since I'm not giving them an exact date, like not scheduling your baby is unheard of.

Anyone else w/ ctx actually having less back/hip pain?? Since friday my body has felt amazingly better if it weren't for the ctxs.... very wierd

Oceanseve--Yeah, they were cheesy. Not as bad as Watchman though. We were very disappointed with that one.

Just got back from my OB appointment. I have a cervix of steel. Absolutely no change from last week. So all my puky, poopy, crampiness has been for nothing. I went ahead and scheduled my next 3 weeks appointments.

I haven't got to see watchmen yet, thanks for the warning. Wolverine wasn't a bad movie I have to say it was definately better than xmen3!!

with DD2 I was hard, high and not opening at all. Lost a bit of plug at 37 weeks, still totally shut (explain that to me) Then my water broke at 38 weeks, still totally shut/high/hard when I got to the hospital (once again still don't understand how that could be) but I had prodromal labor for months with her. So just cause there is no progress doesn't mean you're not going to suddenly go into labor. I wish I could remember what that day before my water broke was like, if I had any symptoms, but it was christmas day so I don't remember was too busy.

So one capsule vaginally and one orally a day? That seems to be what I'm finding online, is that was your MW suggested? My cervix could use all the help it can get

Yeah, usually Sweetie picks the movies, and he was so excited to see Watchmen, and we went the day it opened. When we were walking out, I was thinking, "That movie kinda sucked." He asked if I liked it, so I said, "Did you like it?" He said, "No, it kinda sucked." LOL I said, "I'm glad, because I didn't like it either."

My friend's hairdresser went to the dr with her last baby, and she was completely closed/thick/etc, and then a few hours later her water broke. So all hope isn't lost...But I told Sweetie to not wear himself out today...He's got a big job to do this week. ;-)

She said either / or. I was going to look online for more information too. She basically said whichever way you are most comfortable with.

One of my mw suggested this schedule:
500mg 3 times a day for a week
1000 3 times a day for the next week
1500 3 times a day for a third week if necessary
From what I've seen on-line this schedule is typically started at 37 weeks.

But I'm curious about vaginal application as well. I didn't get checked yesterday, but last week I was till high, hard, and long, and 1cm. I lost a pea-sized amount of plug last night, but nothing since.

So here's my whiny list of complaints:
* my pants and undies won't stay up
* my seatbelt keeps sliding up over my belly and breasts and digging into my neck
* when I lay on my left side, I invariably get an itch on my left hip, and my right hand can't reach it, and of course, my left arm is usually tucked up under my head, so I end up having to roll over so that I can bring my left arm down to scratch. *sigh*
* I'm up all night peeing no matter what my level of hydration, so I'm tired and grumpy
* it's raining all week, so I cant' get out to walk
* I'm too tired for sex; not to mention that every time we try to DTD, I have to interrupt to take pee breaks every few minutes

whine whine whine
