Do you think this scale is okay? and a weight gain q

We reduced DD's supplement and I'd like to monitor her weight gain without having to drive to the birth center twice a week... I found this scale at my local target and I'm wondering if it'd be good enough to monitor weight gain... Just wanna make sure she doesn't lose or completely stall out on a lower supplement. And it's nice to track her growth at home... We don't really do well baby visits (we did 1 month and will do 6 mo and 1 yr) as we don't vax so we track our kids at home.

It says it measures weight in 0.2 lbs increments... That should be sufficient, I would think...

And my weight gain q...

DD will be 4 months old on 5/17. How much should be gaining at this point? I know that before, we were aiming for 5-7 oz a week... Does that change at this point? She was gaining a lot of weight (about 1lb a week) which is another reason I think she was eating too much.

Thanks mamas!

The scale you saw doesn't look like the best option. 0.2lbs is about 3oz, which isn't probably going to be accurate enough for your purposes. Also, I noticed that it only goes up to 20lb, which is pretty low.

I have this one, and I've been very happy with it. It's accurate to the 1/2oz, and goes up to 44lbs.

As for your weight gain question, I go by the guidelines on Kellymom, which suggest a 4-5oz/week gain in the 4-6 month range (as opposed to 5-7oz min in months 0-4).

Since she's not 4 months yet, should she still be gaining 5-7 oz a week? Or is she close enough to 4 months that it's okay?

I decided to rent a scale locally... I think I'm going to rent it for a week and just check her weight 2 or 3 times. I just wanna make sure she isn't losing... Though she's having plenty of pees so I'm sure she's fine!

ETA: I've also found that I'm a lot more comfortable nursing more on demand than I was before... If she takes 2 oz and then an hr and a half later wants to nurse again, I feel better letting her than I did before when she was taking 4 oz a feed... Does that sound bad?
