A 'coming soon' sign will be planted in our front yard

Within the next couple of weeks. We met with our mortgage guy last week and found out what we would need to sell our house to break even and what sort of price range we can look at for our next home.

I'm nervous and excited at the same time. H will be calling our agent today to place a 'coming soon' sign in our front yard. Our mortgage guy highly recommends it even if we don't officially put it on the market for another week or two. We have a house for sale across the street from us and this 'coming soon' sign will bring attention to our home when others are looking at their house. :

If anyone else is in the same boat as us right, please share your story - if you just sold, are buying a new home or are still trying to sell.

It sounds like we're about even here. We are hoping to walk away from our house with $0, but not owing anything. That would be awesome. I'm waiting to hear back from our realtor to see if we can break even.

we are selling now, and sadly accepted a bid that is like 15 k less than what we paid for the house, we have done a ton to the house too, but the market is crap and we need to sell to move to another state. overall, the market sucks. just my two cents.

Agent will be coming by on Thursday

To meet with H and I - talk about price - give us some pointers on how to 'present' the house, etc., and then stick the sign in the yard. Gives me butterflies just thinking about it....

We have moved to a different city where I got a job (husband was laid off) and are renting. Our house where we were is not selling. We are even willing to go into our savings to get out of it, but nothing is selling in the area. We are starting to look for renters.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it goes smoothly for you, OP.

oh good luck to you! Our house has been on the market for 2.5 months now. it is not so much fun to have a show ready home with two kids. It did take some adjusting to but now I have a routine in the morning where I get the easy things done like making the beds, cleaning up clothes and toys that way if someone calls all I have to do is vacuum and do a quick run through.

Real Estate is hard right now we are moving to get into a better school district and we will come out ahead but we bought a fixer and paid cash for the improvements. We are in an area where it hasn't been that bad but man do people have entitlement issues we are in a classic started and all major things are new within the last 5 years but we have had people walk away because they didn't like the phone pole in the far corner of our back yard. It has been emotionally stressful. Things that we have never given a second though to just crazy to hear what people want in a starter budget.

I hope it goes quickly for you! the key is price. I wish we had under priced ours a little just to get it to move quicker.
