"Nap Nanny"??

Has anyone seen this yet? Or actually used it? Our ped has told us to have our week old baby sleep in the car seat as she might have some reflux. I feel like she is too slumped over in it though. Also, she is really struggling to poop/pass gass at night (lots of grunting and wiggling) and I think the carseat makes it worse. I saw this http://www.napnanny.com/the_napnanny.html and it looks promising (despite the outrageous price).

I am a little concerned that she could suffocate if her face were to get pushed up against the side. Anyone else think that may be an issue? Also, look at this picture. http://www.lasplash.com/uploads/gift...6_image_01.jpg It looks like it could quickly be out grown by a long baby.

Im reluctant to buy it because its new and the market and maybe not throughly tested and tried for safety. I would get the AR pillow but it would not fit in our mini co-sleeper. This will just fit width wise and hight wise will just reach the top of the cosleeper. Does that sound safe?

What is everyones opinion of this new gadget??

Have you tried a mattress wedge?

Our little one has/had really bad reflux. If i'd know about this I would have bought it in a second.

do you eat dairy? a lot of time reflux is caused by a food intolerance. Especially if she is gassy, I would suspect something like that to be upsetting her. Dairy is the most common. Try cutting it out for a few weeks (can take 2-3 weeks to get out of your system) and see if that makes a difference.

HTH!

I have to say it looks rather comfortable. My son would have loved that when he was in his newborn/gassy stage. He loved to be sitting up a little, usually if I was resting in the recliner he would fit right between my legs with his head on my belly. We did end up using a sleep wedge in bed because I felt safer with it and he liked it - we used it until he was about 6 months old!

Are there any stores that carry it? I would need to see it in person before buying it. But like I said, it looks comfy!

I have seen those and I am also very curious about them. I wanted one for DD but now that she is rolling I don't think it would be a good idea.

I saw a post about those after my reluxy baby was already too big for them, but oh how I wish I knew about them sooner. I so would have bought one. They look super comfy. I wish they made one in my size .

My Son is seven weeks old and he got a Nap Nanny as a shower gift about a month ago. He suffers from reflux and the Nap Nanny is a godsend.   The instructions stipulate very specifically to only use it on the floor, but  DH and I think the floor is too gross for our LO so we place it between us on our King Size bed.  He sleeps so much better this way and it is easier for me to breastfeed in the wee hours of the night.

I have seen the nap nanny but didn't have one myself.  I had a Fisher-Price rock n play sleeper that I LOVED.  It's on an incline, it is safety rated as a bassinet so it's totally fine to let them sleep in it, and cheaper than the nap nanny.
