Guessing Birth Stats

Let's have a fun thread to pass the time a bit

Give it your best guess, then we'll bump it and go in and edit our responses after we have our little ones to see how correct we were. *Make sure that after you have your baby you go in and quote your original post, that way we can compare.

I'll go first :

Birth date: August 19th or 21st. I can't decide yet which one....

Birth time: 1:21pm

Gender: Girl (we already know though)

Weight: 7lbs 11oz

Length: 21"

Eta: Labor Length: 4 hours, 45 minutes (please let it be shorter!

My DH guesses..

Birth date: August 20th

Birth time *this was cute, he thought I was asking him how long he thought the labor would be*: 2 hours and 50 minutes

Birth Time:6:45pm

Weight: 8lbs 2oz

Length: 20.5

And, DS1 was: 6 days before EDD, 7lbs 4oz and 19 3/4" Labor Length was 9 hours start to finish, only 1 hour of pushing! At home, in the water, no tears or problems of any kind).

DD was born at 4:30am at 40w+8 days weighing 9lbs10oz and 21". I am hoping for a brief daytime labor (4-6h, DD was 10h).

My first son was born at 1:15am after 27 hours of labor. He was 7lbs 14oz and 21" long. I had him at home with 3 hours of pushing, but no complications. I'm hoping this baby will slide out a lot easier!

DD1- 32+ hours of unmedicated labor ending in a c/s at 42+ weeks. She was 9lbs 4oz and 21 inches and her time of birth was roughly 4pm.
DD2- 12 hours from contraction to babe with 4 hours of pushing at 40wks and a few days. She was 9lbs even and 21 inches and her time of birth was just before noon.

Birth: It will be a good birth with minimal interventions. My mom and grandmothers will join me from the spirit world to welcome my new son and I will feel their guiding loving presence throughout the day.


DH and I were both second children and two weeks late, so I'm guessing Jonah will be at least one week late. We already know it's a boy Both of our families have 8 to over 10 pound babies, so I'm guessing 9. I really hope I'm wrong about 16 hours of labor, but that number just sticks out in my head for some reason.

I'm not willing to bet on how long my labor will be! I'm hoping it's short and sweet and completely unlike my mother's labors (48+ hrs)

Reading other's responses makes me feel like I'm planning on having a tiny baby! I was pretty small at birth (2 oz shy of 7lbs) and DH was also in the 6lb range.

Length of labor: 30ish, I'll go into 'labor' at least a day before, active labor will be about 3 hours most.

First son, 46 hours of labor ending in a horrible epi and lame on the back delievery. meh.
second son, 36 hours of labor ending in a beautiful healing water birth in our home.

ETA: My son was induced on his due date and born 3 days later, and he weighed 9 lbs., 1 oz., and was 22 inches long. My daughter came 14 days after her due date, weighing 10 lbs., 7 oz., and 22.5 inches long. My labor with my daughter was about 10 hours, although I had AROM, which I think probably shortened it a bit (and my labor with my son is irrelevant, since I was induced).

An 8lb, 17" baby? That's one short, fat babe. I think your husband hasn't been around too many newborns.
