Sears wouldn't take our family portrait while nursing - Page 2

Beautiful picture...

I was just holding my fully clothed son up to my breast of which none showed, for all you could see (there was a reflective surface I could see us in) it was me holding him 'like a baby'. It would have allowed us to have one nice family picture and no one printing the pictures could have been able to tell what was going on unless they had nursed a baby themselves and knew what the little fold of shirt above where his head was meant.

We went there for the free pictures...I do not like them in general otherwise!

I say don't order prints and just go somewhere else. It would be very awesome to have planned BF pictures (different from BFing so that baby will cooperate). Maybe call around and see if any studio does them, or if a particular photographer is comfortable with that. For me, I can only afford the "studios" like Target and Sears and JC Penny, so I'd call them (well, obviously not Sears LOL) and see if you can get a BF picture done there. I'd love a private session with a photographer, but that will never be in my budget!
That makes sense. And I agree.

I don't want to come off snubbish, not my intention, but if you can afford it, try a private photographer, seriously. I went to Sears a LONG time ago (not for a family picture, but for business) it was horrible. A LOT of people I know who have gone to Sears and other "chains" have had just plain horrible experiences. They are not professionals, they only shoot a certain amount of pictures and to me they are not personable from all the experiences I have heard or had. Our private photog who took my maternity, birth and family pictures encourages breast feeding, bare belly shots and all those cool and sometimes private photographs. Like I said, a lot of professional photogs are affordable and very willing to do what you want and will give you the correct time to be there and will work with your schedule. I am sorry you had a rotten time. Wish you the best of the luck in the future.

We always do family pics at JCP and Portrait Innovations, not sure what their policies are. PI prints their pics in studio right away so I could see them being more open to things. I'm thinking about doing a nursing shoot at the bfing clinic I go to. They have a photographer come in once a week or so for a $10 fee and then you just order what you want, but a % of that goes back to the clinic. It works out well. I have no idea what to wear though, lol.

It's actually a legal issue under the rubric of sexual harassment. They have these policies in place at most chains because they could be sued by their employee.
