Psychology in France?

Thread Starter
Hello! We recently returned from a vacation in Paris and have fallen in love with the idea of moving to France! However, right now I am in school to get my doctorate in psychology, so this change would not be for a few years yet. I'm also not sure how to find out more information about psychology in France. Specifically, in my research/studies here I work with children and families and am wondering what sort of child psychology beliefs, expectations, culture exists there. I would love to be able to continue my work over there. Can anyone send me in a direction of more information?

Thanks!

i made the move in the opposite direction, moved from Fr to the US.
Well, psychology in France in underfunded and very psychoanalytically oriented.
That doesn't mean other paths exists. But this is the mainstream.
i'll come back later. Babe is calling.

Yes. Psychoanalysis is HUGE. Freud still reigns supreme here.

That said, the French love psys. You find them in all the creches and schools, not to mention everywhere else.

However, you need a plan for getting working papers before you make any decisions. Working permits are hard to come by unless you are already an EU citizen or married to one. Work out this point first, it's fundamental.
