what sort of pregnancy/birth are you planning? - Page 3

Planning a UP/UC right now. May look into other options if I feel like it

I haven't decided yet. I have one attempted homebirth/hospital transfer (ds), and one successful homebirth (dd). Thinking about a hospital birth this time.

I'm planning another homebirth with the midwife that was in attendance at Jillian's birth. We live about 2 hrs away now though so that makes things a little bit interesting.

I don't want to see an OB this time at all if I can avoid it.

I'm praying I don't have HG again. That was the only thing that kept me going to the OB last time and he tried to scare me every single time I went in there.

I want to find out the sex though, but maybe I can just go to one of those boutique type 3D ultrasound places for that. Though I'm not sure if they will let you if you haven't had an ultrasound from an OB yet.

I'm hoping to hire a doula this time though. DH was great, but he just wasn't really capable of doing what I needed him to do during labor. He kept asking me too many questions and stuff. I need someone there that knows what is going on and can give me a massage the whole time and help me to focus.

If I meet the screening criteria, with a midwife. It will probably be in hospital, though my in-laws is also a possibility. It would be my first vaginal birth if all goes well.

If I don't get in with the midwives, I'll see my old doctor for pregnancy care, but I won't be doing a lot of the tests. I do an u//s if it makes her feel better, and I suspect she might like to have a better handle on the dates than I have now. But I'll birth in the hospital here, where she doesn't have privileges, so I guess I'll take whoever is on call at the hospital, unless my family doctor recommends someone and can get me in.

She is a really nice lady, but I lost count of the times she said "I hope this baby isn't getting to big for you to deliver" to me. I just need someone more positive if I can manage it.
