Ugh, Cannot Reply To Threads

This is the second time I've posted about this issue. It seems to keep randomly resolving itself and then cropping up again. The problem is that there is no reply icon of any kind in the posts. I cannot even type in the reply box at the bottom, it tells me to select a reply icon first. I've tried signing out then signing in again, doesn't work. Sorry if I said annoyed, this just ALWAYS happens to me on this site and NEVER on other forums. I think maybe the reply feature needs to be simplified? I have seen several other posts of this kind, so I know it's not just me.

When this happens, about 99% of the time it means the member needs to clear both their cache and cookies in their browser. If you need help doing that, I have a How To in the FAQ I wrote under login - http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=520255

Also, there are forums that are simply archives - meaning they can be read but not posted in. Is it possible you are viewing thread in one of those?

We do have some forums that require certain levels of access before you can post in them. Some require 60 days + 50 posts (you have the days but not the posts). Areas like the Trading Post require members to purchase access to post. There is more info on that in the FAQ I linked to, under Access to Forums.

Sorry. Reading this again and I think I know where you are confused. The general reply button is at the bottom left of threads on the page, not inside the actual posts. It looks like this --


Quick reply, the box at the bottom of the page is different. There is a button in posts that will make it able to be typed in, there are just less features you can use with quick reply. The button you need to click in the bottom right of posts looks like a piece of paper with a pen --


Is that the problem?
