I measured smaller this week also. how's this for weird, at 30 - 30cm , at 32 - still 30cm, at 34 - 35cm, and now at 36, 34cm. I wonder if it went down again since the baby dropped a bit. I do feel much more on my cervix and bladder lately, but I still 'look' high I think.
If those are the tape-measure readings... I don't think they're the most scientific measurements in the world.
The first time one of my doctors busted out the tape measure, I had to work hard not to laugh: *this* is modern obstretical care? Ah well, if it makes them happy and does no harm...
Thanks everyone who described their "twinges" as feeling like a UTI-- I've been feeling that way too, and was worried I might be developing an infection or something, except that when I pee, I feel fine (no burning, no pain.) Now I know what's going on with that!
I had an u/s yesterday, to check size/ positioning/ placenta/ cord/ etc. The tech pointed out that baby's head is resting right on my bladder... I joked that I had already figured that out on my own. Hard to miss, really. According to their measurements, my LO is already 7+ pounds. I'm almost 37 weeks... Originally I didn't care about "going over"-- especially since I have SO MUCH TO DO before being comfortably ready for the baby-- but figuring 1/2 lb gain per week, now I'm sort of hoping not to go past 40, just to keep the size of the baby reasonable. Oh, they also said that the baby is facing forwards. Hope s/he moves around before delivery!
