We have the pox....anyone want them too?

Apparently my kids had atypical varicella last summer (that explains the odd presentation...very very mild and no one at our CP party got it from us)....but now they have typical varicella with a classic presentation....they are everywhere. My mom even caught them from my kids! Wish me luck!

we're just outside Portland

When can we come and play again??? Isaak could go for another round of lollipops Are you still on the M2M loop? If not I can let Cheryl know, I know she's still hoping to get them too!

Where are you guys? We are in Bath. We cannot share lollipops or drinks because DS1 has life threatening food allergies to dairy, eggs and nuts and can't risk exposure to his allergens.. but maybe some play time would do the trick!

Do you have pets? We also are allergic to cats and dogs...

(We really are limited in our social life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Keep us updated

We'll be away this weekend, but would love some pox germs maybe next week when we get back. If your mom got it, that makes me nervous that it's not pox and is hand-foot-and-mouth or some other viral rash. Are they the typical pus-filled blisters? Did your mom get shingles? I've heard that can be painful. I'm eager to hear how things develop and I'll be in touch next week.

AARRGGHHH:, how did I miss this?? I swear I was checking this all week and didn't see these posts.

Anyways, Kindermama, any chance you think your kids are still contagious? We're an hour west of Portland and would love to come visit, though tomorrow is booked.

Thanks for the offer!

You all are welcome to come by this afternoon...my youngest is the most contagious right now. Maybe if one or two of you can make it, you can keep in touch with others on this thread to keep the pox going around! Send me a PM for more info!!!

I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner....I thought I was set up to receive notification when someone replied to this post...oops!

We do not have any pets.

It's definitely pox....our doc confirmed it. It looks just like all the pictures and has presented itself exactly as described. Low grade fever, fatigue, a few spots and over the course of 24 hours, they were covered head to toe.

Think we might pass for now

I'm eager for my kids to get it and be done with it, but I realized that now is a really bad time for us when I was talking about it with my husband. My sister-in-law's health is not good right now and I was hoping to help out with that, but won't be able to if we have chicken pox. So I guess I'll wait longer. I'm sure it's one of those things where there really is no perfect time to get it!

What happened with your mom? Did she get shingles?

Chicken pox gathering

Greetings. I would love for my son to get the chicken pox, and thank you for listing! Do you know if your kids are still contagious, or if any attendees contracted the pox and would now be contagious, and would be willing to be contacted?

Thank you for any guidance. My listing here is under "Susan Wells" but I check my yahoo email more frequently - it is jenh4300@yahoo.com

Here's a big thread we've had going for a while about sharing pox in VT/NH/ME:

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...&highlight=pox

Could we all stick with that one thread, so everybody gets the message when there's activity? That would rock
