So... what is everyone eating this early on?

I'm just wondering - is your diet different now, are you craving things, are you avoiding thing... What are your supplements... ect.

I haven't had my appetite kick in yet, I'm eating more frequently and get a little nauseous if I don't eat. Haven't had very many cravings yet, except for tuna tartare once : (which I yielded to - but then I really do not eat tuna much at all, so I figured a little bit would probably be ok). I've also had more ice cream lately. mmm...
What I found is a must for me now : - breakfast, I usually had a hard time eating it, but now I have to have a big mug of broth, an egg and some berries. mmm... Otherwise I am queazy. I'm also craving and loving raw milk.

My supplements are - whole food prenatals, calcium, magnesium, fish oil, and maca. I've been feeling great overall, all of my symptoms are very manageable and mild. Hopefully it will stay that way. :

I am taking prenatals (New Chapter organic).

I am loosely following the Brewer Diet per my recommendation from my midwives. Trying to eat a lot of protein!

I had my first craving today, bologna and cheese and miracle whip. It was tasty (not too healthy, but tasty all the same). Hubby just ran out to get some ice cream.

About two weeks ago, I got this crazy notion to go vegan. I'm moving towards it, will probably just end up have a 90% vegetable based diet, but now that I know I'm pregnant, I think my body was telling me I needed to do this for health reasons.

I am hungry in the morning, which normally, I am never hungry in the mornings. And I want to eat tofu every single darn day! I have some tofu baking in the oven right now. with soy sauce and maple syrup on it. :

I am currently taking

325 mg aspirin
800 mcg folic acid
b complex
rainbow light prenatal
norweigan gold critical DHA (def not vegan!)

two tums in the evening (for GERD as well as extra calcium)
prilosec (serious GERD and a hiatal hernia, so even when not pregnant i aspirate at night without it)

I started food journaling yesterday because I feel like I'm eating all the time and I'm trying to make sure it's not out of control.

I'm paying a lot of attention to protein and calcium, I lacked in both of them when I was pg with DS. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, and water aren't usually a problem for me.

I have been doing a smoothie with frozen fruit, plain yogurt, and protein powder first thing when I wake up. It's been working wonders on my tummy and I don't think I could tolerate eating a bowl of yogurt and fruit the same way, you know?

ETA - I'm taking the Rainbow prenatal but am almost out and bought some Whole Foods 365 prenatals to take next. The ingredients were identical and it was cheaper. I'm using alternating between Whole Foods 365 whey protein powder and Manitoba Hemp but I think it's pretty disgusting and prefer the 365!

I had the nausea hit, and when I want something to eat now, it often is more specific. But that didn't start until I started feeling sick. I've wanted olive garden's salads, watermelon, and a subway sandwich. I got the salad, and it was the most satisfying salad ever. Haven't gotten the watermelon or the sandwich yet. Not sure if I'll get the sandwich at all, since lunchmeats are discouraged.

I have been a vegetarian for years but have been taking epa/dha the last 6 months or so, so I decided that I would take that a bit further and eat some fish during this pregnancy, salmon mostly. I am counting my protein to make sure I get enough. Having smoothies every day with hemp protein powder or sometimes whey protein. Avoiding sugar, fried foods. I also have a gluten allergy so I eat a whole lot of vegetables, rice products and other gluten free grains.
Lots of nuts and seeds too!

I take Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA and Sisu's Multi Expecting and CoQ10 - all twice daily. And Sisu's CalMagVitD nightly.

man, I haven't been feeling nauseated but I have been feeling...weird...! and definitely food aversions. I'd been all into sprouting mung beans and alfalfa seeds and lentils; well, I looked at my mung bean sprouts in the fridge and wanted to hurl! sheesh. No more uncooked sprouts at least for now. I love salads and I've been wanting to eat huge salads but have to curb the size because my tummy can't seem to take too much at a time right now. Breakfast has been really hard, because nothing sounds good. I made some eggs the other morning and all I could taste was chicken and it was NOT good!

Last night I made pupusas with refried beans & cheese inside, and some Spanish rice, in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Wow! I could have eaten til I fell over! So I'd say that my appetite starts kicking in mid-day through dinner, and then if I eat after that I feel off.

That tuna-fish sandwich sounds good though, but I don't want to have to make it because of how stinky the can is when I open it. If only DH were here to wait on me hand & foot!

to the OP about subway sandwich, if you don't mind skipping the lunchmeat you can get the vegetarian with extra cheese and it still has the yummy subway flavor!

I'm craving veggies and fish. My mom makes an amazing pasta with smoked salmon, chives, capers, celery, tomato and olive oil that is to die for and I've been craving it all week. Tomorrow night her and dad are coming to my place to make it for me!

As for supplements:

I'm currently taking New Chapter Multi for Two (Canada)
Folic Acid
Vit. D

and I'm going to be adding sodium ascorbate and cod liver oil in the next week.

I'm laughing after reading how good you all are...and I am standing here, laptop on the counter, finishing off a large bag of Kettle organic tortilla chips and Santa Barbara salsa:.

So, I haven't gone out to get prenatals. In the past I have used the standard Rainbow Light...but, I may go for change this time. I have a tendency toward ppd/depression, so I may opt for a combo of things to help curb that.

Any suggestions are very welcome!

I don't have any cravings or aversions yet. I'm just trying to be sure I eat when I'm hungry. Food is so blah to me right now. I don't really care for it.

I don't think that's a 'bad' snack at all! In fact, I think it's quite healthy and it's my favourite too

*Rainbow Light prenatal
*Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA - when DH gets free samples
*half serving of Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer
*red raspberry leaf tea - 2 Traditional Medicinals bags to a cup, until I can get some bulk shipped
*Chlorophyll

I try to have two boiled eggs for breakfast but wondering if I really need to because the Vega has a lot of hemp protein in it. Earlier this month I weaned myself off sugar so that is great. Actually the last couple months I've spent doing crazy cardio, strength training, and trying to lose weight in general as I am a little overweight. Seems to happen that way each time. Oh well I'm always still excited :

No cravings right now. But I have changed my diet drastically.

Cut out most sugars, started on Milk Thistle & Dandelion, and the Brewer's Diet, including protein poweder daily.

I am hoping to prevent Pre-E/HELLPS and hypertention. Kind of hard for me to eat so much at times, but I am working on it.

I was eating really healthy for the last few months (mostly). Since the week before our bfp I've been feeling very carb-y and junk food-y, so I've slipped... a lot some days. There have been some chip, candy, and refined sugary snacks slipping in. I really have to limit that!

Breakfast is 2 eggs and 1 slice of homemade bread or yogurt and fruit + tea. Lunch is leftovers from dinner the night before. Dinner is usually a meat protein source and 1 or two types of veg + a starch every few days. I eat at ;least 2-3 piece of fruit and have tea and water throughout the day. I was having a once a week or so splurge coffee, but I'm skipping that now. We cut out almost all refined and "white" sugars in Feb, so we make homemade wholewheat bread, and have brown rice 1-2/week, and eat colorful potatoes. Oh, and I have been totally about the salt and protein lately, I eat my veggies but man some nights I just want double steak no broccoli please

I'd like to add salmon once a week, and Kefir (but then I'd have to make it and not ruin it....). Plus I LOVE smoothies, so a Kefir fruit smoothy in the morning would be awesome.

I'm on a B complex, and extra folic acid (.5mg), Blue Ice fermented cod liver oil, and a vitamin E supplement.

I need to start counting my protein so I know where I am...

I had morning sickness within a week of conception... bleh. So, what am I eating? Quesadilla's, 10x a day everyday!!!! I cant stop! If I even talk about it (like now) I have to go make one. My last pregnancy, I had no cravings, just aversions. This time, I want mexican food, home made! I had to stop putting onions on my quesadillas cause now they make me gag

For prenatal health, I take:

4 Vitamin code raw food multivitamins which contain greens and probiotics

1 tbs molecularly distilled fish oil (which IS NOT in capsules, but dh is soooo adamant about the fish oil that I woke up to a sign on the fridge, drawn in highlighter so it cant be missed: "Smart Babies Need Fish Oil." He knows how much I hate taking the stuff.

2 cups of pregnancy tea, red raspberry leaves, clover and something else

smoothies!

water water water... I have a hard time getting enough. i dont feel thirsty ever! But im pregnant AND breastfeeding!

Supplements: 4 Vitamin Code Multis
2 Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA
2 DR. Weil Cal/Mag
2-3 cups RRL Tea, need to order some bulk

No particular aversions or craving just trying to get back into the habit of TF Foods. Limiting the junk and the no caffeine unless absolutely necessary.

NudistBudist, your post cracked me up and made me slightly grateful that my DH is more on the apathetic side. I hate being told what to eat.

The only craving I have ever gotton in all my pregancies was once - A movie theatre pickle. I ate it and made me sooo sick.
I don't relly get food aversions either, I am just sick all day long, getting progreesivly worse through the day and through the pregnancy until it begins to wane.

I am taking prenatals, and drinking one cup RRL tea in the evening. I am also sticking as much as I can to the 'pregnancy diet' which I can usually do very well - except for the green leafy veggies. I normally can't stomach those at all - wait thats a food adversion, guess I lied lol

For diet, I am gluten, dairy, soy, corn, and egg free (for my nursling and myself). So I am eating lots of sprouted beans, vegetables, every kind of meat, potatoes, and fruit. Smoothies in the morning too, with coconut milk and coconut oil. No cravings really yet. I am still feeling great, only having minor food aversions sometimes. And I am hungry..a lot!

Supplements: fermented cod liver oil, raw liver pills, cal-mag, digestive enzymes, probiotics, and lots of herbal teas (nettles, RRL, dandelion)...I think that is all for now. We are hoping I am healthy enough to not have another child with the gut issues my dd has, thus I will be watching my diet very carefully!
It's actually been bizarre...with my dd, I craved cheeseburgers for breakfast everyday. I would go to the meat counter at Whole Foods and buy three fresh burgers, then would literally pull out the George Foreman grill every morning and eat a cheeseburger. Mustard and onions and all. And I couldn't get enough cottage cheese. Guess my body was looking for some protein. This time I'm finding that although I feel like my stomach is super empty and grumbling when I should be hungry, I have very little appetite. ? Figure that will change sometime. I've added in Nature's Sunshine Prenatals and am thinking I should pick up some fine Omega 3's.

Hey NudhistBudhist, why not try Coromega fish oil? It's molecularly distilled and comes in a yummy chocolate orange flavor paste, also lemon lime I think, but not as good. You can send away for a free sample on their site and I will give you an extra $5.00 off coupon I have laying around somewhere if you PM me your address.
