I posted a day or two back about beginning to walk with our almost 12 week old boston terrier. I was already wondering what to do with the pulling she was doing.
Today, we went just down our street and back (still awaiting her 3rd booster shot), just in her usual nylon collar, and our 6 foot leash (me holding it at about the 2 1/2 foot mark). Well, I must say that "standing like a tree" seems to work right now! Whoo Hoo! She would just look at me, and then come and keep following, and even got to the point she would scoot back a bit to regain the slack, and then resume walking, with a loose leash
:. I am definitely going to keep this up and see how it works.
Of course, there was barking at a cat, shrinking back from a blowing leaf and a gust of wind, and other such puppy things, but I was excitied she went to the end of the street and back.
She is soooo darn smart I must say! When I get a minute, I will post a pic of her too.
I must say BTW I am enjoying this board and all your words of wisdom too! Thanks!
