If you need to turn your baby, don't be stupid like me...

and put an ice pack directly from the freezer ON TO YOUR BARE SKIN where they have told you babes head is!!! Your body will say OUCH and it will be for a good reason. It will leave bruises on you and give you freezer burn (which does NOT feel good at all, btw and truly does give you a "burn" feeling). I am SO smart! Midwife says "Oh, I see you have that wonderful end of pregnancy rash." and I had to tell her what an idiot I was.

BUT, hey, it worked! (Or something did, anyway! I am telling myself it was that so that I am not in pain for nothing! Every time DH and the tot see it, they say ouch. (On a funny note, DD says today that she wants to make a wish for her birthday...that her baby brother will come out soon and mommy won't be in pain any more. I must complain a lot more than I realize!!!)

Oh man you burned yourself from an ice pack! But I have never heard of using and ice pack to turn baby either thats cool (haha)

How sweet of your daughter wanting the babe to come so you won't be in pain.

Yes, I'm brilliant! I told DH I was going to google how to get rid of freezer burn, but I'm probably the only moron to ever do this and it would say something like "defrost your freezer". I'm not sure if the normal things you put on a normal burn would work for freezer burn or not. I feel like an idiot plus...yeah...it's pretty darn tender and ugly, too. (Which I don't particularly care, but it's bright red and in old stretch marks from prior pregnancies.)

They say if you have a breech baby, you should put the cold up where their head is and either heat down where you want them to go OR do it while in a warm bath so the cold is on their head and they move down towards the warmth.

Google "frost bite" instead of "freezer burn" and you should find what you are looking for.

Yup, it's irritating me right now so I googled. This seems to be more commonly referred to as "ice burn". Will have to see if I can find some aloe vera tomorrow.

My mom used to do things like that when she was pregnant with me, just to mess with me. She'd put something cold on to make me move away from it, and then put something warm to make me come back. She would also try to pinch and grab me. I told her no wonder I was 8 weeks early, I was tired of her bothering me. LOL

Sorry about your frost bite! That on top of everything else, huh? LOL

Aloe vera will probably help. DH gave me ice burn on my leg a year or so ago when I did something...he was trying to be nice and help me ice an injury, but it ended up creating a REALLY awful looking welt/rash on my leg that lasted for a few days.

See, I'd have gone overdue on her just to be stubborn for all she put you through!

That wasn't brilliant... but if it worked... freezer burn is better than a scar :-)

You poor thing!!! I'm only giggling a LITTLE bit.

We had a heatwave here in February (continuous temps of 40C/104F) and I was constantly covered in ice packs.

I only put them directly onto my skin once, and bub had a big reaction with movement which is what made me realise that he really hated it!

Oh mama, ouch! At least your baby is no longer breech! Now your LO needs to stay that way so you don't have to try any other painful measures!

Ouch! I'm glad it worked. We tried that the last pregnancy, in a warm bath and he didn't move an inch. I felt really bad afterward, lol.

Yeah, it feels a little better today, thankfully. It's been a week today since I did it.

I never claimed to be smart.
