Insert for newborn in a pouch sling?

I like using my moby for the nb period. However, I will be the MOH at my friend's wedding when my baby is 4-6 wks old. I have a beautiful Mamma's Milk silk sling that I have been saving for an occasion like this, and I am so excited to use it, esp since it matches the bridesmaid gown color. I just tried it on and had forgotten how deep pouch slings are for newborns. Do I need to tuck a blanket or something in there so the baby isn't in so deep? I can't remember...

Is it a ring sling or a pouch?

I haven't used a pouch personally but I did a lot of rolling up blankets and making things not so deep in different carriers when my son was a newborn.

With my ring sling though I could just pull on the center section of fabric coming through the rings and make it more shallow like that.

It's a pouch. My ring slings are all too casual looking to wear to a formal wedding. Thanks, I think I will play around with some blankets to lessen the depth of it.
