Well, I casually went in this AM for my 40 weeks 4 days prenatal appt. Baby had turned back to breech!!! He was breech until 37 weeks, but he had been head down for about a month now. Just 5 days ago, the MW could feel the sutures on his head through my cervix... What a total bummer.
They got me in right away for a detailed ultrasound. Good news is that baby looks fine, and I've got a lot of amniotic fluid (17cm), so it's a go to try the external version tomorrow morning. If it works, they would like me to go ahead an get induced before he turns around again! If it doesn't work, then they will schedule a c-section... This after 2 vaginal births, one totally drug-free.
After all the emotional ups and downs today, I feel remarkably at peace about the whole thing, even though it's such a disappointment. I think seeing my baby on the ultrasound reminded me that he is what this is all about.
So, here's hoping I don't go into labor until after the version! And also hoping that the baby will turn.

I truly hope babe turns for you! Maybe BEFORE the version, even! Something about these boys!
A friend had one last week, went in labor and as she was pushing, they realized he'd flipped to a footling breech! What is up with these boys?!
