Condoms here, my period decided to show up early this time, ie yesterday just after 8 weeks postpartum, that is with me exclusively breastfeeding and tandem nursing. I am just thrilled, sigh. At least with DS it stayed away for 8 months.

see. this freeks me the heck out. omg. I am considering trying to go back to using NFP method, the best I can without a period (temp, checking cervix, etc for ovul signs) and in addition to a diaphragm/spermicide. My hold up with this is that I have always had trouble getting diaphragms stuck up there (really post cervix normally) and the last time we used it I got pregnant with my first ds AND had to have it removed by a mw because it was so far up there and neither my dh or I could hook it. over 48 hours later. But, I am thinking this still sounds better than condoms right now. I figure if its up there that good, I probably shouldn't be having sex at all because a high cervix most likely is indicating a more fertile time...

can someone just tell me what to do? this is kiling me. why isn't there just a switch - off or on.

Are you sure it's a period? I think anything within 9 weeks PP isn't considered menstruation, but rather post-partum bleeding, according to ecological BF, but someone else probably knows more than me.

My DH just had a vasectomy last week. I've been wanting to post to see if anyone else has a partner whose already been through this. Even after the V, we still have to use protection for 3 months until he is officially screened and found infertile. So, we'll be using condoms until otherwise. I simply hate condoms, though. Hate, hate, hate. I'd almost rather abstain. But I guess I can deal for 3 months.

i wish i could go back and add diaphragm and NFP to the poll. Is that possible?

anyhow, I still am hating this dilemma. The freedom of sex in preg, well at least until the third tri (lol) when it just sucks anyway, is such a tease.

That's our long-range plan as well - I'm older than DH by 5 years and would want him to be able to have more kids if something happened to me.

Short-term I'm going to use an IUD as we're not 100% sure we're done.
