Do you know of any recommended science book lists?

There are so many "recommended reading" literature book lists out there, and history book lists, broken down by topic & grade level & everything. And I love them! And utilize them like crazy.

Do you know of anything similar but for the subject of science? A website with recommended scientific reading? Or a book with such a list in it? My son is in 5th grade, but I'm open to just about any suggestions out there. Thanks!

I don't know of one, but am subbing. Maybe we can all create one! I love the Living Math list and they have a great list of books; I'd love to see something like this for science.

There's a great Living Science yahoo group full of scientist and book geek moms:

I go there whenever I need ideas. The list owner frequently updates the book lists with members' suggestions.

Margie, that is awesome! Thank you so much! I joined the group this morning & only skimmed over the book lists & links. I can't wait to delve in, they look great! Just what I was looking for.

Annette, do you mean THIS LIST? I had never noticed it at that site, it looks great, too! I'm def going to utilize that for our math studies.

Well it's not broken down by grade level or anything, but Penny Gardener's site has one:
