Early U/S today

I'm really, REALLY nervous. I never did the early u/s's before but last time I felt like something wasn't right. So I went in and found out I was miscarrying twins. This time I opted for the early u/s since with the m/c I still had all the same pregnancy symptoms (sick, tired, high beta hcg numbers, etc). I am SOOO nervous to look at that screen today. It's all I've been thinking about all week. 1:30 cannot come fast enough!

I imagine I'll have one in the next week or two--the last time, I basically got the ultrasound only to confirm a miscarriage... I'll be seeing the doctor for the first time today, and, well, the awkward part for me is when I made the appointment, I mentioned nothing about being pregnant, because I was only a day or two late at the time... Oh well. (and for me, also, I'm a bit nervous right now, because this is about how far along I was last summer I started spotting... none so far this time.) If I can see/hear/whatever the heartbeat, I think I'll be able to relax a bit...

I hope that this ultrasound will put your mind to rest.

I had an early ultrasound to date the pregnancy...SO early that they couldn't see anything, and the pregnancy was only confirmed by bloodwork.

Tomorrow I have another ultrasound (presumably I'm about 6weeks), just to comfirm there IS a baby there.

Can they see/hear a heartbeat at this point?

cheers,
charlene

Thanks everyone! I'm about exactly where I was last time (when I miscarried) which is making me even more nervous. They should be able to see a heart beat but at the very least a fetal pole/baby. So, here's hoping! they should be able to see a heartbeat when your hcg hits 2000 which mine is well beyond so.....Only 1.5 more hours!

Hoping it goes well for you!!!

I have one in 2 weeks to check for twins (we had two eggs release) and I am soo nervous too! I had a m/c at almost 6 weeks with my first pregnancy, so I know where that fear comes from.

Thinking of you!

Thanks everyone! We saw a baby, yolk sac, and heartbeat! : I know that doesn't completely erase chance of miscarriage (nothing does) but it sure made my day!!

Great update! I just had my first ultrasound today too. By my figuring, I'm at 7 weeks, and at first she said yeah, looks like a baby looks at about 7 weeks, but then she did her measuring and put me at 6 weeks, 1 day. That's not even possible really, since I had a positive pregnancy test at 10 dpo by going with my 7 week dating, so with the new date that would mean I got a positive at 4 dpo? No way. But whatever; it give me more wiggle room if I go late.

It was so reassuring to see that heartbeat, after having the miscarriage last time. It was the tiniest little heart beating.
