long lasting pocket or AIO

I'm looking for something to make diaper changes easier while my DD is trying to crawl away, lol. I mostly use prefolds/thirsties covers with some BumGenius one size pockets when we're out and about. Both fit and work well, but I'm not happy with the longevity of the BumGenius - they're wearing out already and we've used them only occasionally for about 9 months. We're planning on more babies, so something that'd last through a couple of kids would be great.

Would snaps be better thsn APLIX?
Would sized dipes last longer than one-size? DD hasbeen on the biggest setting for her OS since like 6months...
Good brands?

Thanks in advance!

i havent tried the bg, but i have heard that the snap organic version was better for some people, because there was no aplix to wear out.

We have the one sized fuzzy bunz. They have a 2 year warrenty on the elastic, and since they are snap closure, they don't have the worry of the velcro. AND if they are out of warrnety they will still send you new elastic for a little $ (I think). I ordered 6 and DS is 2 months and about 12 lbs and they work well. A little bulky, but what OS isn't?

That is just why I got on here was to ask about the fuzzibunz OS. I don't know why I haven't heard of them before now. Are they new? You really like them so far? I am a huge fan of the OS bg. Yes, they wear out, but still worth it to me. But these fuzzibunz OS diapers look like they could be fabulous!

The only thing I don't like (on a little one at least) is that the front panel is kind of big. And there is no way to make it smaller. It causes wing drop. We have compensated for it by making the back elastic really short, then snapping it over a span of 4 snaps (not the 3 that it would naturally fall on). It will probably fit perfect once my big boy gets around 15 lbs or so.

Baasically I would call them a smaller medium - XL diaper, not so much a one size. But my guy is growin fast so I don't mind.

I'm a fan of Tiny Tush Elite one size dipes. For us they have fit really well, and still look and feel great after lots of use. They come in snaps or aplix - we have the snap version.

I think sized diapers generally have a better fit and will last longer too, since they are not used as heavily for each baby. How about the sized FBs? I've heard that many kids potty train out of the mediums so you might only need a couple of sizes. And if you are using them in addition to prefolds it may not be that expensive. Or you could do a mix of the sized and OS too.

Once babies are crawling, diapers with aplix closures sometimes shift around too much or open, so I find snap closures preferable. Of the AIOs we have, I like Mother-Ease AIOs the best. They have side snaps, so you can pull them on/off, making for quick diapers changes. That features also allows them to double as training pants. The large size (20-35 lbs) fit my son until he was about 37 lbs and stopped wearing diapers and my daughter has been wearing them since she was about 19 lbs. They still look almost new even though they have gotten a lot of use.

I think sized diapers are where you might want to be looking. The sized fuzzi bunz are great and are snap closure obviously. One OS diaper that I really like and that doesn't have bulk in the front is the rocky mountain one size. It is really trim, has snap closures and the adjustment is in the legs. I really like them and they wear well.

Yeah, I'm thinking sized is the way to go. I suspect she could potty train out of the size she's in now for some of them... She's in Medium Thirsties covers (which we love) and she's got plenty of growing room in those.

I'm not too concerned about newborn fit, since I was very happy with prefolds for a newborn. It's the active toddler stage I need help with.

Snaps are appealing to me too, because when she's not wearing pants over the diaper the velcro gets stuck on things (or she fiddles with it)...

OK, so snapped sized diapers. I'll start checking out the brands mentioned.

Thanks so much!
